After properly assessing the unit assignments, the basic types of contractual
agreements became clear to me especially those which are connected with ICT,
building on agreements and managing a number of devices. The expertise of
every contractual arrangements be it complex non-governmental or non-
governmental became easy to comprehend for me from the learning
experience. I also learnt the different types of contractual arrangements that
takes place and their specific operations in a particular complex project like the
Chunnel project.

3. Differentiate
methods of project
negotiation, conflict
management, and
stakeholder
engagement across
projects consisting of
differing technology
standards and asset
lifecycles.
After properly evaluating the unit learning courses and assignments, I
conclusively understood several aspects of complex projects such as conflict
management, project negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
For complex projects which has a number of technology standards as well as
asset lifecycle, the importance of the combined agreement of ideas to reach an
agreement was fully understood by me. I also understood the need for
stakeholder engagement and how it is used to mitigate problems during the
project cycle. As the people are affected due to the decisions taken by the
organization, the stakeholder management is essential for maintaining the
complexity of the project.

4. Explain and apply
methods of
identifying and
reconciling
inconsistent and
conflicting objectives
and drivers that
develop, maintain,
mange relationships
and communication
I was particularly interested after learning that to address the inconsistent
objectives, maintaining and managing the relationships is essential in every
project cycle. I also came to know about the various methods by which the
parties perform their collaboration in a face to face manner. To reach a
satisfaction level, both parties have to compromise sometimes to reach a
decisions which was I found out to be very interesting. If the situation becomes
a win loss issue, I learned about the process of voiding, smoothing and forcing.

5. Explain the
consequences of
project delays,
disruptions, and
changes to planned
activities and the
methods for claims
variations, liquidated
damages, contract
entitlements, and
arbitration.
After reading the prior assignments, the huge number of project delays and
disruptions surprised me. There are a number of reasons why the delays can
occur such as equipment, clients, consultants and contractors. I was able to
assess the time overrun, dispute, cost overrun and proper negotiation situations
from the case of the Chunnel tunnel. Several other topics intrigued me such as
owner practices, risk and shared contracts. I also came t0 know about a number
of other contracts such as written, period and verbal.
(Kerzner and Kerzner
2017)
6. Evaluate project
management tools
that help avoid or
provide conflict
resolution via
negotiated solutions.
I came to know about the various management tools that are sued for
addressing conflicts and how they can be resolved through negotiations from
the he case study of Central Artery and Tunnel (CA/T) Project. The number of
tools such as Basecamp, JIRA and Scoro. The way the tools helped to mitigate all
the problems helped to solve the symptoms and the problems that are
associated with it.
