INTRODUCTION
Marketing is the activity by which organisation try to reach to their customers with the help
of advertising and promotions to promote their products and services that can has a maximum
influence on the decision of the customer (Peterson and Park, 2021). With the growing
technology and internet service the traditional marketing systems are shifted towards digital
marketing. With the advent internet technology digital marketing is the activity to promote and
sell the products and services with the help of the online marketing channels and strategies such
as social media marketing email marketing search marketing and many more. The social media
marketing is the marketing tactic by leveraging online social media channels like Twitter,
Facebook, and Google etc. In present report on digital marketing will briefly explain the
importance of marketing functions and how digital marketing is used as the most important tool
in the contemporary business for the communication strategies.

TASK 1
Marketing
Marketing refers to the business activity to promote the buying and selling of the products
and services. The marketing is the combination of various activities like advertising, promotions,
selling, delivering and much more that basically aims to reach the potential consumers to
increase the sales of the organisation. Basically marketing is the way of influencing the
consumers buying decision through customer oriented marketing strategy (Evans, Bratton and
McKee, 2021).
Marketing mix and communication mix
Marketing as a discipline includes the multiple actions that an organisation undertakes to
gain attention of the consumers and to maintain the consistent relationships with them. For
effective marketing the organisations are to understand and utilize the concept of marketing mix.
The 4P’s of marketing are discussed below:
Product: product is the item that the company produce to fulfil the needs and wants of the
consumers. Basically it is the goods and services that the organisation offers to their consumers.
