BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
INTRODUCTION
Business communication is the procedure which is useful
in sharing information with many people within and
outside the company. In terms of effective communication
employees and management interact with each other to
reach out the organisational goals and objectives.
Therefore, its purpose is to enhance the organisational
practices and reduce errors.
Common Barriers
Perception and language barrier: This barrier describe
the differences among the opinion and suggestion
regarding the varied the perceptions among people by
giving rise to the requirement for the effective
communication. In that case, language which describes the
expressions in order to communicate with others is also
considered as the barrier to them.
Cultural issues: It describes the differences in culture that
arises among two individuals within the organisation that
belongs to various religions, countries and states. It
describes various factors including the behaviour and
personality considering the body language, thinking,
manners and norms. Therefore, all of these are the factors
can become barrier for the London tube system regarding
their trains and metros which highlight their problems.
Strategies to overcome communication barriers
By considering the scenario of London tube system it is
analysed that temperature is getting high regarding the
air conditioning which is not effective for the tube. In
that context various strategies are adopted in order to
overcome the issues:
Be aware regarding language, tone and content of
message: By considering this, the sender needs to take
care of the prominent fact of message that should be
framed in considering the clear and transparent
language. In terms of this, the possible content of
message need suitable brief and does not use
unnecessary technical words that should be avoided. In
terms of this, the message should not be injured or
incomplete towards the receiver.
Make sure proper feedback of passengers: In terms of
this, the objective of feedback is to analyse that receiver
has significantly understand the meaning of prominent
information. In terms of face-to-face communication
this reaction on the face of the receiver to be
understood. Moreover, in terms of written
communication and other communication has proper
method of feedback that should be adopted by sender.
Cultural awareness for communication and negotiation
This can be spread by considering the respect towards the
cultural differences which is better to understand the value
system regarding the work in order to construct the
problem solving factor concerning the difficulties that are
unfamiliar for the custom poses. In respect of this, to
reduce cultural differences proper research is required
regarding each and every culture in order to enter into
negotiations with unfamiliar counterparts.
Conclusion
Therefore, by considering the above discussion, it is
analysed that communication is important for the better
functioning and smooth running of things. In that case,
there are various barriers which are faced by people
because of ineffective communication. So, in that case
various strategies are also developed which is useful in
overcoming those barriers and helpful in spreading
awareness regarding the cultural differences.
