INTRODUCTION
Procedures related to health and safety are mandatory to apply at the working
place of every organisation, no matter in which industry it performs.
The present study comprises with McDonald which has worldwide presence in
the food market. There are huge number of employees working for them it uses
some health and safety processes.
Ways related to emergency evacuation, common hazardous, bomb threat,
cleaning of working environment, reporting, manual handling tools etc. in
McDonald are presented throughout the current study.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures
at McDonald
• In order to reduce and eliminate issues regarding health and safety at work
place, companies use wide range of systems, procedures and policies at
the working environment.
• Further, ways and processes used by McDonald are as follows:
• In emergency cease all the activities
• Secure personal valuables
• Assist an employee who help to provide guidance related to safety in
immediate issues
• McDonald uses alarm systems which alert to the workers about dangerous
conditions
• Give help or assistance to those workers who are little disabled.
• Avoiding use of lift for evacuating from the workplace

Common Hazardous at McDonalds
• Fire is a big hazard at the working environment of McDonald. The reason is that
they cook several items for which stove or gas are being used
• Electricity is another major hazard because employees work on the electric
machines or cooking equipment.
• Hazards related to back bone because they work in standing position most of the
times.
• Lifting and carrying hot food items
• Burns from the hot food products and equipment.
• Slipping from the floor is also a big issue at the workplace of McDonald.

Waste Disposal
Proper disposal of waste food items reduces pollution. Therefore,
negative impact on health of people can decline up to the greater level.

•Follow properly, instructions given by emergency service people

In order to keep the environment of McDonald highly clean and tidy, the
management uses some useful tips which are:
•Prevent trips, slips as well as falls
•Eliminate fire hazards
•Control and reduce dust level
•Sanitize surface daily
•Do not forget condiments
•Store materials in proper manner

Self Manual Handling Techniques
 Use gloves while lifting hot pans
 While lifting heavy objects stand in front of that
 Check the pans whether they have proper handles or not
 Use various equipments whenever required
 Review procedures of receiving, supplies, storing and materials for
minimising manual handling
 Avoid to lift very heavy objects or equipment
 Inspect those equipments and tools which used for personal protection

Reporting Procedures
 Under the reporting process of work health and safety, employees of
workers raise the issue. Therefore, these people are considered as problem
raising and identifying the WHS of McDonald.
 Hazards are the basic issues due to which reporting process is taken into
account.
 When employees going for resolving the HSC issues then faced problems
presented in front of manager of health and safety department in McDonald.
 At the working environment issues raised by workers who suffered from
health and safety problems.

 The issues of WHS in McDonald can be solved by using proper policies and
procedures, safety equipment etc. Moreover, issues are resolved by safety
manager in case of formal process and when informal procedure is used then
external party makes effective solution.

Issue Resolution Procedures Summary
 At the workplace of McDonald, wide range of issue related to health and
safety took place which influence efficiency of employees.
 In order to resolve such issue, the company considers some different
procedures which may be, informal as well as formal.
 Under the timely resolution method, parties should make highly effectual and
reasonable efforts for achieving timely, final as well as appropriate resolution.
 When looking at the informal issue resolution process then at the initially
worker concerns with health and safety and raise problems in front of
supervisor. After this, the supervisor coordinate with departmental managers
and then communicated with senior authority.
 Therefore, actions will be taken in order to make an effective solution related
to WHS in McDonald.

are raised and communicated with parties.
• After that, investigation of that specific problem which is raised by
workers is to be done by authorised party.
• Further, a party is hired by manager of McDonald who overall
investigation and make solution of that.

who raised the WHS issue and implemented at the working environment.

 At the workplace of McDonald various kinds of regulations as well as
legislations implemented and followed related to WHS.
 The reason behind this is that it helps to make the workplace very safe
and proper for the employees.

CONCLUSION
It can be summarised from the present study that, McDonald uses
various policies and processes at the workplace for preventing workers from
health and safety hazards. Apart from this, it considers effectual strategies
related to waste disposal, avoiding bomb threat, keeping workplace clean
etc. Further, employees of McDonald use highly effective techniques of self
manual handling.
