Introduction
There are different ways in which mental health is related to our physique. Every person
has mental health and everyone have to take care of it. Good mental health comprises the ability
to think about the aspects, feel and react in a particular way as per the situation. There are the
situations in life of people which directly affect their mental health. If a person goes through a
poor mental health situation, then the person would not be able to do things, not be able to think
and react as per the situation. Because of the poor situation person will not be able to deal with
the situations and get irritated which may resultant in the person falling sick for longer time
(Mental health problems- an introduction, 2017). About the good mental health, B.K.S. Iyegar
stated a quote that “Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit. When
one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.” It
stated that when a person is healthy and without any disturbance, then the person would be able
to live a happier life as “Health is Wealth” (Allie, 2016).

disorder, a person gets depressed, hopeless and do not feel happiness and interest during
activities. Mood swings may occur during the bipolar disorder. Due to the occurrence of these
issues, bipolar disorder is known to be mood disorder (website M. c., 2019).
Discussion about chosen issues, using the principles of trauma-informed care and practice
“Bipolar is like being in a roller coaster ride. Sometimes you can predict drop-offs and
others you just have to hang on because the next turn sends you into an unexpected spiral.
Sometimes you are laughing and throwing your hand in the air and then other times you are
clinging, simply holding on for dear life screaming it the top your lungs.” This bipolar disorder
got over a person then it causes many severe problems to the person (Koldewyn, 2019). By the
help of trauma-informed care principles, a patient got comfortable with the psychiatrist. After
consulting with the doctor, the patient diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The patient was suffering
from depression, drug addiction, loss of discipline, mood swings in daily routine. The patient
was taking drugs every day. Due to this, the patient was not in a condition to tackle mental
illness. Due to mental illness, the patient started thinking about the situations like where am I,
Where I am going. Due to these situations, Patients feels like “I constantly feel like I’m in a war
with myself.” The patient did not get out of the hallucinogens (Mark, 2018). When the patient did
not come out of the situation, the patient started feeling of sleep. The patient had gone for a long
sleep. This situation of the patient was stated by the quote “Those moments when you just want
to fall asleep because you’d rather not deal with the intensity of the depressive mood swing.”

require adjustment according to the mental situation of the patient (Kathleen, 2019). Nurses
provided them supplements named omega-3, magnesium, vitamins, and many other nutrients via
diet to relieve them in the situations. Nurses provided psycho-education to the patient because
patients may feel embarrassed after curing from bipolar disorder due to the things that had been

the help of this, they cope with the situation of loneliness and started gathering and
communicating with the peoples again (WebMD website, 2019). Nurses provided emotional and
motivation intervention to cope with the negative thoughts of the patient. By these emotional
interventions, nurses helped the patient to cope with depressive situations. They motivated
patient about things such as therapies, gathering with peoples and many more. By these
motivations, the patient started intervening with the situations and started thinking about the loss
of not taking medications (Psychiatry, 2019). “Time will pass; these moods will pass; and I will
eventually, be myself again.” These motivations entered into the thoughts of the patient. By these
motivations, the patient pushed oneself to get out of the situation of mental illness (Linklater,

states a quote that “Calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence, so that’s very
important for good health.” By keeping emphasized on that quote, nurses provided motivational
intervention to the patient (Slattery, 2018). These holistic nursing interventions were necessary
for the patient because the patient was in depression due to the feeling of being disabled to
perform work during the training time (Mark, 2018). Nurses also cope with the social
determinants due to which patient was getting more in the depression. Nurses motivated the
patient to fight against these social determinants. Nurses enhanced the inner-will of the patient.

The implication of trauma-informed care principles by the nurse during care consideration with
consumer
Principles of trauma-informed care are used to identify the effect of violence and to state
the improvement and to catch the strategies. They are based on the strategies as initiative aim,
which can improve the health of the patient. They provide a comfortable environment where the
patient can stay respectfully. They provide acceptance, security, and respect to the
patient/survivor. They enhance the inner-will to enthusiast the patient. So that they can get over
the situation and start communicating with everyone and enhance their skills. They help the
patient to get over those issues that may cause the occurrence of traumatization again. They
enhance them to get rid of the fear and help them to live in the community (Butler, Critelli, &
Rinfrette, 2011).
During the treatment of the patient having bipolar disorder, nurses used these principles
of trauma-informed care. Because these trauma-informed facilities provided care with an
effective cost and provided better results. They helped the patient to go through out of the
situation. By the use of these principles, nurses would be able to provide a comfortable
environment in the patient. By which they would be able to discuss the situation under which
they had gone through. After diagnosing issues, nurses enhanced motivation in the patient to get
rid of a hopeless situation. Nurses motivated them to go for rehabilitation to get rid of the drugs.
They enthusiast and helped them to fight against loneliness and mood swings. Nurses would start
medications and therapies to treat depression and mood swings. Due to this, nurses would be
able to consider suitable therapy to reduce the stress of the patient. After reducing stress and
mood swings of the patient, they would get success in the recovery of the depressive situation of
the patient (Kezelman, 2014).

Conclusion
From the discussion done above, it is concluded that bipolar disorder is a mood disorder.
It may get worse due to mood swings, drug addiction, and severe depression. Due to these
situations, traumatization situation may occur to the patient. It would be cured by preventing
drug addiction, by coping with mood swings, by reducing depression. These situations would
cope with holistic nursing interventions that will be provided by nurses. In these interventions,
nurse deal with the mental, physical and social situations of the patient. It would be a cure by
providing medications, recreational therapy, and psychotherapies. For this trauma-informed care,
principles play a very important role during holistic nursing care interventions. These trauma-
informed cares would be cost-effective and would provide better success in results to get rid of
this type of mental illness.
