INTRODUCTION
Marketing is generally termed as an identification that helps in directing, controlling as well
as managing various relationships between business Reliance customers for or improving value
of their company along with increasing level of satisfaction towards customers. Marketing
function basically benefits company in attracting customers in higher number as well as
promoting their product or services in corporate markets (Todorivić, 2019). This report is based
on marketing essentials of marketing officer in travel and tourism company TUI group which is a
tourism company headquartered in Germany and known for its largest leisure travel and tourism
business across global world that provides travel agencies, hotel airlines along with many retail
shops. Company is also carrying subsidiaries of TUI cruises, RIU hotels and so on. This report
includes two activities in which activity 1 explains about roles and responsibilities of marketing
function as well as how they can relate to marketing in wider concept. Along with activity to
explains about marketing plan in which comparison of companies in terms of marketing mix is
explained marketing plan for meeting goals along with conclusion.

ACTIVITY 1
Explanation of key roles as well as responsibilities of marketing function.
Department of marketing is reliable for various roles as well as responsibility that are helpful
in accomplishing company’s goal. Marketing department is needed to have an effort for
improving brand image of company in long run (Hillman and Radel, 2018). In terms of TUI
groups company carries and efficient department of marketing which execute different functions
in a possible manner by which they will be able to widen their business in different countries
through no problems along with higher sustainability. As Bing marketing officer roles as well as
responsibility of marketing department in terms of company are as follows:
Social media monitoring: This role of marketing is carried by marketing department in
order to trace customer’s behaviour as well as perception by taking use of social media
sites. TUI groups uses this method for determining customer’s behaviour in terms of their
travel by analysing their uploaded videos and taking reviews from them. Along with that
company is using search engine optimisation along with social media advertisement for
attracting more customers to avail services of their tours and travels.

Defining strategic marketing plans: As a strategic marketing plan is said to be a written
document which consists of strategies, objectives as well as plan of actions which are
designed by marketing section related to company’s project. It is beneficial to all
employees as well as stakeholder of companies for preparing a marketing plan of action
in order to grab market (Almeida, Ivansecu and Campos, 2021). In terms of TUI group
company is making their marketing plan according to strategies which are adopted by
them for attracting more customers towards their travel agencies.
Developing promotional campaigns and strategies: As this function of marketing relates
to designing promotional programs as well as creating various strategies that could be
taken by marketing department for attracting customers for providing them their services
for building their brand awareness. In terms of TUI group marketing officer of company
good plan various campaigns in order to determine taste and preferences of customers in
terms of travelling and according to that design their vacation offers for customers.
Marketing department it generally executes various functions as well as responsibilities for
making company successful along with providing their offers to customers for generating
customer satisfaction (Marasco and Balbi, 2019). In terms of TUI group marketing officer of
company carries a role of generating awareness among customers along with ginning
competitive edge in markets for travel sector. Some of responsibilities as well as roles of
marketing department in marketing surrounding of company are as follows:
Ensuring satisfaction of customer: As this function of marketing is related to ensuring
that product or service which company is offering generally fulfils requirements of
customers which is executed by marketing section. By having appropriate as well as
efficient alternative it could be introduced in different products as well as services of
business to make customers satisfied. In terms of TUI group company e is focus in
collecting feedback along with reviews from customers in order to ensure that their
customers are satisfied with their tools and travels company or not.
Defining as well as managing company: This function of marketing relates with
mission, vision as well as aims of company for building brand positioning in markets in
terms of their offerings to customers. In terms of TUI group company makes a constant
arrangement of campaigns for building their brand image in market along with providing
