Task 1
10 to 15 mins Role play exercise
Student A- Management consultant / Student B – Unsatisfied employee
Dialogue: Employees working in a company needs proper support in order to achieve related
goals and targets in specified time period. Being a management consultant, I have observed
several problems in workplaces which creates problem for employees to work in effective
manner. There is a need of developing effective and efficient working environment which will be
helpful for overall advancement in performance of employees in effective manner. By analysing
recent reports, I identified that the workplace environment needs to be regulated so that more
appropriate results can be drawn. I noticed several complex issues which creates dissatisfaction
in employees at vast level. The areas of dissatisfaction need to be analysed in detailed manner so
that appropriate outcomes could be drawn.
Student B– Unsatisfied employee:
No work life balance: Balancing work life as well as personal is a vital task which needs to be
managed by employees in effective manner .These two matters should not be merged as it might
result in lower satisfaction and less productivity for the long lasting period. It becomes easier to
work in effective manner if working environment is proper and favourable ( Chen, 2021).
Therefore, it is important to manage working life appropriately in order to eliminate any
unfavourable consequences which might lead to dissatisfaction in employees.
Low wages: By contributing in the best possible manner, the employee expects from the
company that they should be rewarded with appropriate amount of money in form of wages or
salary which will make life easier and less complicated (Effenberger and Pelánek, 2021). Though
there are problems of low wage rates which cause dissatisfaction in employees and it will
ultimately lead to low productivity level and decreased profitability for the company.
Flexi: It is expected of a company to provide flexible working hours in order to boost efficiency
of employees in specified time period. Flexibility in working hours will help an organisation to
outreach their goals through its skilled workforce. Though it is widely faced issue by maximum
of British employees which makes it difficult to produce efficient results. As this issue is rising
and therefore requires proper monitoring from time to time .

Student A- Management consultant:
As per view of Pollert & Charlwood (2009), it is identified that the low paid workers
need to be aware about their right in order to get optimum level of payment as per the
requirement and contribution made by them. Therefore, being a management consultant, I would
recommend UK government to implement effective yet efficient laws and regulations in order to
regulate such practices in corporate environment. It has been analysed that in the current
scenario, employers & workers have being suffered vastly. In the given case study various
personnel have viewed this situation and concluded that the considering happiness of employees
will reflect effective and more efficient results for long lasting period.
As per reports, employee satisfaction in a organisation is linked with involvement of
employee in different activities and processes. There are many different reasons for unsatisfied
employee that may arise because of no proper work life balance flexibility and lower wages.
These are common situations that are faced by every employee with respect to their functioning
in organisations. Employees are demanding more flexible working options that have a direct
impact on the mental health and satisfaction level of employees. Organisations and management
can focus on using happy complacency theories that are helping employees in developing an
understanding of exactly what employees want. It is necessary for organisations to motivate their
existing workforce so that they are able to have a workforce that is willing to contribute towards
late vision and mission statement of organisations. Having a proper work life balance also helps
in creating a positive mindset among employees. They are having equal and time and
opportunities for each and every aspect that leads to creation of a healthy environment at
workplace.
As per The Times, it has been analysed that the happiness of employees is being
determined by their respective seniority, ranking as well as age criteria ( Nurdyansyah and et.al,
2021). The workforce including company directors of approximately 68% were found to be
happy whereas 37% of frontline employees were happy in its comparison.

No work life balance: Work life balance creates lots of complications and dissatisfaction in
employees which results in mental health illness for long lasting period. It is important to
