Executive Summary
This report will focus on the Mandarin speaking students of Chinese origin who face different
while their stay and studying period in Australia. The issues will be brought into focus and
their remedies would be addressed. The group that leaves their place of origin has to face
certain challenges while commuting to different countries. The barriers associated and the
identity crisis that they face while the process of learning in universities will be discussed.
The Mandarin speaking Chinese individuals are migrating towards the western countries in
order to excel in the process of learning while there are a number of difficulties that
constantly pose a threat to them. The issues faced by the students there will be focused and
the suggested remedies will be provided.

3PROBLEMS FACED BY THE CHINESE STUDENTS IN AUSTRALIA
Introduction
Mandarin is a common language spoken in most of the parts of China (Liu et al.,
2013). Mandarin traces the roots of origin in the North China. It is placed at the top due to
the large share of speakers it occupies amongst the speakers in the Chinese territory. It is the
official language of China and most of the natives are comfortable in speaking this language.
People who speak this language are mainly residing in the northern parts of China and this
language is referred as Northern Dialect in that part. Mandarin is the largest amongst the
seven or ten Chines native groups and is spoken by many people in the area. The capital of
China is also located within the region that speaks Mandarin. The term Mandarin is
associated with a group of dialects that are spoken in the northern and the southwestern parts
of the Chinese territory. The print literacy is relatively low with respect to the English
language that is spoken widely in the world in which the students belonging to the Chinese
community are to get exposed (Guo, 2014). This report will focus on the problems faced by
the students of the mandarin speaking community who commute to Australia for the
fulfilment of their educational prospects.
Discussion
The Mandarin speaking students from China face many difficulties when they leave
their native land in order to pursue higher studies in different countries. The major issues
faced by the Chinese students who speak Mandarin are discussed. During the last few years,
the inflow of the Chines people who speak Mandarin is constantly increasing towards the
western countries. In the year 2013, the number of students of the Chinese graduates was
estimated at 2 million who did not have a clear goal oriented future (Chan, 2015). Education
inequality is found in China. The main factors that contribute to educational inequality are
