strategy to problem solving. My ability to find creative solution is quite low and which I need to develop to
become a best manager.
In addition to this, another table has been framed just to rate my coaching as well as mentoring skill. After
analysing this table it has been founded that I was quite confident to build trust on others as I am committed to the
development of people. They inspire from my capabilities and try to improve their skills on the basis of same.

as well. It boost my inspiration level to give better coaching to people and train them in more better ways. I
always use to be very flexible and open to new ideas forever. It boosts up the confidence level of my co-workers
and motivates them to work effective. Active listening is another capability of mine which helps me attentive all

skill as I am not very confident in applying a multiple solution approach to problem solving as well as applying a
strategy to problem solving. My ability to find creative solution is quite low and which I need to develop to

In addition to this, another table has been framed just to rate my coaching as well as mentoring skill. After
analysing this table it has been founded that I was quite confident to build trust on others as I am committed to the

However, I have gone through the several areas in which I am very confident such as I always use to maintain

NOS (National Occupational Standards) determine the performance standards that
workers need to achieve at their job. As a position of strategic manager I must have several skills
such as problem solving, leadership, appropriate communication, presentation, motivation etc.
These skills must be possessed by me so that I can better lead my co-workers and take
appropriate strategic decisions for the company as well. There are various preferred learning
styles which are followed by the employees of Iceland supermarkets such as:
Honey and Mumford Learning style:
By following this learning style workers of Iceland can learn more effectively and they
are not dependent upon one style of learning as well (Koprowska, 2010). Mainly there are 4
learning styles presented by Peter Honey and Alan Mumford which are activist, reflector,
theorist and pragmatist.
Activist: They are the people who like to learn by doing things. They are capable of
managing things and try them for their betterment. They people always learn from trial
and error methods.
Reflector: These are the people who are highly motivated with their past experience.
They learn from this and try to improve as well. Before making any decision, they think
upon the particular subject and then make decisions.

Theorist: These types of learners always use to learn from theories and concepts. In order
to conclude anything first they go through the appropriate situation and that fits to some
theoretical situation (Khilay, 2010).
Pragmatist: These types of learners always learn from practical problems and try to
overcome with that at the time or requirements.
Fleming’s VAK model
This is another most preferred learning style model which described three states through
which people can enhance their knowledge. Here, these learning styles are as follows:
Visual learners: They are the learners who always learn from their viewpoints after
seeing something such as movies, maps etc.
Auditory learners: All these learners learn through listening and they are having good
communication and listening skills as well. It can be easily accessed through verbal
lectures, attending seminars, conferences etc. (Fitzgerald and et.al, 2009).
Kinaesthetic learners: They are the learners who learn by moving, doing and touching.
From all the above given learning styles my preferred learning style is VARK learning style
by which I am able to find out all those areas where I need improvements (VARK Learning
Styles, 2014). I am kinaesthetic learners as I like to learn by doing and I will remember
something better if I have seen it written down. This provided me appropriate knowledge and
extended information within my career. Being s strategic manager at Iceland I need to set
appropriate strategic direction for my company. I always listen to people gather their suggestions
and learn from past experience as well. It helps me in boosting my performance and motivates
me to improve my performance.
TASK 3
3.1 Personal development plan that meets leadership development requirements identified in
skills audit
From the above skill audit assessment I have found all my strengths, weaknesses as well
as opportunities and threats. For the same, a personal development plan has been framed that
meets the leadership development requirements (Developing a Plan for Communication, 2014).
Through this plan I can identify all those areas where I am competent and overcome all my
weaknesses.
