INTRODUCTION
A personal and professional development plan is a process in which an individual develops
an action plan to help him achieve personal growth goals and objectives. It is important for a
person to understand his or her own strengths, weaknesses, importance, and awareness in order
to promote the planning process (Rynearson and Rynearson, 2017). This report is based of Park
Plaza Hotels & Resorts. It is a chain of hotel that runs as franchisee. It was established in 1986.
They are operating worldwide. In this there is importance of a professional development plan is
being discussed. There is talk about the different skills and competencies that an employee must
possess in order to meet the company's goals and objectives. In order to create a suitable
professional and personal development strategy a plan is formulated. SMART strategy is also
part of this report. Along with that there is discussion related to practical interview and the
challenges faced. The ways to overcome the challenges as also discussed.

Importance of on-going professional development
Personal and professional plan is a never-ending process. An employer must be aware of
the skills and requirements that an employee possesses as well as those that are desired in order
to meet the goals and objectives on time. The advantages are discussed below:
Benefit to employer
Skilled workforce: It is seen that with the help of continuous professional development
plan the employer gets skilled and talent employees that complete all the work assigned within
time (Stephens and et.al., 2019). It is beneficial for the employers of Park Plaza Hotels as their
employees are skilled.
Up-to-date knowledge: It is noticed that the employees of Park Plaza are given regular
training and development that help these employees to have knowledge and updated skills that is
beneficial for the organisation.
Organizational brand image: The organisation that monitors the performance of the
employee on regular basis is able to work effectively. Along with that these organisations create
good impact in the mind of customers and have healthy brand image.

Intrinsic motivation: By regularly working on the skills and weakness an employee gets
motivation from inside and they work in an effective and efficient manner (Ellis and Hogard
eds., 2020). It is observed that the employees are motivating work in more productive manner. It
is beneficial for the organisation as there is need of motivated employees in an organisation.
Personal satisfaction: As the employees are able to work in an effective manner they get
satisfaction from inside. This helps them to improvise their performance. It is vital to note that a
person that is satisfied will be asset for an organisation. By working n personal skills a person is
able to be satisfied and work effectively.
Increased employability: The employees work on their skills and develop them. This in
turns help them to get more opportunity of job and get more money. The development in skills
will get more chances of getting job and working in an effective and efficient manner.
Professional standards and expectations
There is need of professional standards that need to be followed by the employees. In
relation to Park Plaza Hotel it is vital to follow all the standards to work in an effective and
efficient manner. It is also important that the individual adheres to all ethical and professional
standards (Bridges, 2018). It is critical work that is carried out in accordance with a code of
ethics and with mutual respect. The employee is expected to be on time and in uniform at all
times. These are the standards that Park Plaza Hotel expects of its employees.
Importance of projecting the brand image
It can be said that if all the standards and ethics are followed then it helps the organisation
to work in effective manner as well as set a good image in market (Steils, Moriarty and
Manthorpe, 2020). In relation to Park Plaza Hotel It is seen that employees follow all the ethics
and their represent the company in positive manner.
Common skills expected in the workplace
There is need of soft skills as well as hard skills to work effectively in the organisation.
