PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Part A
1. Listening and Verbal Communication
In this course unit, I was successful in understanding the basic principles and the
importance of a proper interpersonal communication along with active listening. This has helped
me a lot in the class and during the active session. The active listening skill that I have gathered
has helped me in understanding the subjects in a more practical way. The communication skills
that I have acquired have helped me in effectively communicating with my lecturer. Now I can
use my communication skills in communicating in different complex situation.
2. Reading Skills
The reading skills that I have developed have helped me a lot in while working with the
different assignments in the course. The effective reading of the different journals has helped in
proper analysis of the journals that in turn helped me in properly completing the assignments.
3. Team Work and Interpersonal Skills
The team work and the interpersonal skills have mostly helped me in working in a team
environment. While working on group projects, I have tried to keep my team members motivated
to complete the work on time. There were certain situations of disputes among the team members
where my interpersonal skills have helped me in settling the disputes.
4. Example of assessment task
The portfolio 3 of this assignment has helped me in investigating and understanding the
different ethical and professional code of the conduct. This assignment has therefore helped me
in understanding the ethical behaviours and the social, privacy and certain legal aspects in the
ICT domain.
5. Diversity and Intercultural Competency Skills
I have worked in a team in that included people from the different cultural background.
While working in a team with members from different cultural background, I have acquired the

intercultural competency skills and tried to maintain a friendly relationship with all my team
members.
6. Communication and Collaboration Technology
For effective communication among the team members while working in a diverse
project, it is necessary to develop a proper communication plan. I have understood the use of the
ICT devices in making effective communication among the team members. This knowledge will
help me in working in other projects in future.
7. Evaluation of ICT Technologies
The use of the communication devices can enhance the process of communication flow
within an organization. Even in a project, the team members can effectively communicate with
the team members from any place and any time. Therefore, the use of information
communication technology in different organization increases.
Part B
The COIT20249 Unit Learning Outcome (ULO) of creation and delivery of the oral
presentation will be helpful to me when I graduate. This is because it enhanced my ability of
keeping my stance in front of others. The ability of effective delivery of oral presentation will
boost my knowledge and will further help me in securing good jobs. Oral presentation will help
in boosting my confidence in working or in communicating with people. Oral presentation helps
an individual in presenting their thoughts in an effective manner. The thoughts can effectively
presented in front of a live audience and therefore it will definitely boost my confidence level
and will further boost my communication skills. Creation of an oral presentation requires a lot of
efforts, idea and enthusiasm and therefore it will definitely help me in my professional career.
Effective creation of an oral presentation reflects the fact that the presenter has an ability of
developing a proper project plan and therefore it will help me in getting more job opportunities
in future. Furthermore, with the effective skills of oral presentation, I will be able to present a lot
more to the audiences than it is possible with a normal communication.
