Nursing is defined as the profession that assumes the responsibilities that focus on the proper
and continuous care of the sick, injured, and disabled people. Nursing is also a duty of
accountability that encourages individuals, families, and communities in the medical and
community setting. Nurses usually communicate with the patients to understand them and take
proper care and monitor pharmacological intervention. The nurses must be empathetic,
compassionate, and lastly, understand their patients well. The professional nursing values are
generally defined as an essential nursing principle of human dignity, integrity, altruism, and

The nurses take care of patients in a non-discriminative way by taking legal, ethical, and

statement is follow under legal, professional and ethical aspect which play role with reference
with nurses and midwives. The professional, honest, and legal aspect is derived from the

for patient support and care. The Nursing and Midwifery council 2018 provide various means
that work as regulations to provide ethical and legal aspects for nurses working in a healthcare
setting. The discussion focuses upon Nursing and Midwifery Council codes that specifically
involve a role in protecting the public's well-being and health. It generally sets the standards of
education, training, performance, and conduct so that midwives and nurses can effectively
deliver elevated quality care to their patients (Cithambaram and et al., 2021).

The NMC code 2018 states people's interest by focusing on nursing and midwifery service
as a priority. At the same time, they provide proper care and support to the patient while
maintaining the dignity and respect that is associated with the individual. Moreover, it also

positive health benefits. In addition, they are used to ensure the availability of adequate and high-

standards and codes that have a broad motive to provide ethical and professional viability
towards their duties and preferred roles. NMC 2018 is formulated in order to elevate the relevant

the standard of conduct, performance and ethics for the nurses and midwives is a set of key
principle which underpin the practice of nurses and midwives and remind them of their duty and
professional role and responsibilities.

evaluating critically and analysing nursing practices. Therefore, they comprehensively conduct

the engagement towards the therapeutic intervention and relationship is also a primary focus that

hinder the formulation of quality-based service and health. The legal aspect extracted from the
statement is based on the various law and regulations implemented to end discrimination within
the healthcare setting. According to it, the nursing and midwifery council implement a legal
framework with a motive to reduce discrimination and health inequalities within patients. The
legal implication related to nursing practice is tied with the fraction of licensure, state and federal
laws, the scope of the course, and a public expectation that nurses are at a high professional
standard (The Code, 2021). Moreover, the nurse's education, registration, license, and nursing
standard and codes provide the framework for nurses to complete their practice. These laws play

midwifery council rule 2004 contains education, registration, and registration appeals. Necessary

improvement in patient safety and compliance. Nursing and midwifery council rules 2004
provide information related with the fitness to practice. The nursing and midwifery council rules
2008 include practice committees based on the constitution. The changes are usually made

also explores the ways to deal with situations that is critical within healthcare setting and
maintain respect for the patient with configuring the cultural and religious aspect. The ethical,
professional, and legal aspects prioritize the people and nursing and midwifery (Stonehouse
2021).

As per the above discussion, it is analysed that the NMC 2018 statement has a broad
meaning that plays an essential role in forming ethical, legal, and professional aspects. The
professional aspect provides and maintains trust and contribution towards patient safety and
monitoring and legal aspect provides a confined way to reduce the issue of discrimination and
provide the right to people. In addition to this, the moral element helps improve and maintain the
