3EXPLANATION OF THE PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLERIntroductionIn the modern industries, the use of a programmable logic controller is mainly adoptedfor addressing needs of automation for the electronic and mechanical processes. These devicesare very specific and are used in the industries because of their special ability to withstand cold, heat and dust. It is usually made using microprocessors that is programmed using the computerlanguages. This program is made in a computer and is then transferred to the device using acable. This report includes a discussion of the three styles of the PLC devices. This report alsoincludes a discussion of the switching voltages and the sensors corresponding to a PLC.Moreover, this report lists various devices that can be used as a PLC. Furthermore, this reportalso includes a discussion about the processing of the information in PLC. Lastly, this reportdiscusses about communication of information aspects. DiscussionThis section of the report discusses about the main concepts of the plc devices. Styles of plcThere are three different types of PLCs. They are the unitary, modular and the rackmounted PLCs. Unitary PLCThe unitary PLC consists of various features which are included in a basic system. Thesefeatures are the presence of a power supply and the presence of a main module. The mainmodule consists of a CPU (central processing unit) for processing of the instructions (Bolton
