Problem/Opportunity Background: Problems related to the management of patient data within a
healthcare organization is quite common and for that, it is necessary to make use of an effective
information system that can, store record and easily process the data of the customers.
The use of information system in healthcare becomes a necessity as a small data misplace can
significantly affect health of the patient. A single data misplace can prove to be fatal for the patients and
therefore, it is quite integral for a healthcare organization to identify certain means of data storage and
access, which will be free from any human errors. Therefore, the proposed project of development of
information system is justified and is feasible as well.
The information system in healthcare industry has a number of advantages. The information system can
be used for automating the entire process of providing a healthcare service. Booking appointments with
the doctors can be automated and prescriptions can be generated digitally. This will enforce a
