This article discusses the four phases of project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure. It also covers the resources required for project managers, such as information, people, equipment, and finance. Additionally, the article explores project management issues and reasons for project failure, such as lack of communication, understanding, knowledge, budget, team harmony, unexpected events, and system or software loopholes.

P1 - Project lifecycle Phases
Project life cycle is having four steps to completing the project. These processes are must require
for the completion of a project. These are the steps:
 Initiation
 Planning
 Execution
 Closure
Initiation: it is a process in which project start with the basic requirements. It includes concepts
of the projects, and analysis about projects needs for completing it. It is a process in which all the
resources are collected for the project, which are helpful for calculating project cost and
estimated time of completion of project. It is a difficult task, because of project estimation. It is
must require for project initiation. This process is sowing all cost and time for project. A good
project manager is managing all the information in front of his mind. It is clear all the things
about the project, such as benefits of project.
Project planning: It is second step of project life cycle. In this process, team members are
selected for the project. They all are selected according to their knowledge and intelligence. They
are also set some milestones for completing project within time limit. They make strategies for
project planning, so it will finish on time limit.
Project Execution: In this stage, project is going for approval in front of senior managers and
other management personals. Project manager is ensuring about the project controls, and
working. Project is checked based on different criteria, such as timeframe, cost, and quality of
project.
Project Closure: This is last step of the project in which all the necessary requirements are
checked in the project. Team members are checked complete project and if some more fund
require for that project they put request for it.1

P2 – Resources for the project manager
Information: first thing is requirement of the project, which explains about all the thing of
projects. It is also having brief knowledge of project cost and timeframe.
People: all the team members are having a key role for project compilation, such as system
analyst, project manager, designers, and management.
Equipment and facilities: different resources are required for completing the project, such as
hardware, and softwares for project completion.
Finance: Cost estimation is very important for the project manager2.

P3 - Project management issues
Project is having different things for completing basic requirement. There are some external
factors of the project, which make changes in project requirements and specification. Project
is must monitor by the project manager and supervisor for managing all the phases of the
work. Project requires much correction in bases of time. There should be a good
communication between project manager and team members for compilation of the project.
Project must follow all the guidelines and legislation, as it was approved from government
and other agencies. It is also compulsory for the project that no conflicts occur in the project.
Project must be given positive impacts on the other systems3.

M1 – Project failure reasons
Projects can be failed when lack of understanding between the team members happen, or team
building as well as team management does not work effectively4.
Furthermore if the prototyping, launching, testing processes are not executed properly then
projects failure can occur. In some cases, where supply and demand is not properly observed and
anticipated then projects can be failed easily5. any big failure related to projects can be because
of following reasons:
 Lack of communication
 Lack of understanding
 Less relevant knowledge
 Less budget and investments
 Lack of team harmony and management
 Unexpected events or happenings
 System or software loopholes can also cause project failures.6
