Introduction
In this new era, the field of Information Technology continues to impact most of the business
organization worldwide. The level of competition is also increasing globally based on the use of
information technology. This essay depicts three different emerging trends that are widely using by the
business organizations for commercial success and competitive growth in terms of cloud computing,
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Inter of Things (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). However, many issues or
challenges are also associated to these emerging trends that are needed to be resolved and reduced by the
project manager and working team members. Due to these challenges not only the business organization
but every working individual are getting impacted.
It is responsibility of the project manager to bring potential changes management practices to
manage the projects. In order to manage and deliver the project followed by primary objectives and goals
the project managers should use Project Management Offices. Above all the essay demonstrates the way
how the changes in project management work ambiance will impact the role of the project managers
while executing any project (Fleming & Koppelman, 2016). It has been determined that, in order to
manage project with technical excellence and emerging trends the assigned project manager and project
team members are required to possess enough technical skills and knowledge as well. Some of the new
skills that the project managers are required to manage such technical situations are also elaborated in this
essay.
1. Emerging trends and issues that impact on the project manager’s role and
task
These days, different emerging trend are using by the organizations to improve operational and
functional values. The three different emerging trends nominated for this essay are cloud computing,

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). The issues for each of the emerging trends are
impacting the role of the project managers.
Issues associated to the emerging trends
Cloud computing technology: Cloud computing technology is referred to as one of the most
widely used emerging trends these days that help to increase the business efficiency including reliability,
security and overall system flexibility (Binder, 2016). It gives huge storage capacity to the business
organization where large set of data can be stored, managed, accessed, deleted and updated whenever
required. Due to high security none of the external and unauthorized user would be able to access data
from the server without permission.
Issues: The organizations that use cloud computing face challenges like date security concern;
appropriate could set up selection issues, lack of real time monitoring requirements, high cost and
requirements for technical experts, data hijacking risk etc (Milosevic & Martinelli, 2016). If these
issues are not properly resolved then the role of the project managers would become more complex.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): These days the use of Artificial Intelligence is increasing rapidly for
business commercial competitiveness and growth as well. With the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the
rate of operational and functional errors can be reduced though it is much difficult to explore (Kivilä,
Martinsuo & Vuorinen, 2017). For daily application AI is useful and it works as a daily technical
assistant.
Challenges of AI: No such application level challenges are associated to AI but it can cause
different risks and challenges as well. The operational cost of AI is very high and it causes
unemployment.
Internet of Things (IoT): In the technology space the Internet of Thing act as a breakthrough of
revolution. It does not connect people but also helps to connect different devices as well. In the recent
