A WBS or Work Breakdown Structure is a deliverable-oriented breakdown of the entire
project into separate activities and deliverables. The benefit of breaking down the project into
individual activities and deliverables is that they can be treated as individual mini-projects and
can be scheduled separately in order to determine the overall schedule for the project.
