INTRODUCTION
Project management is a practice of an initiating, planning, executing, controlling and
closure of a work of a team in order to accomplish specific goals or objectives to meet success.
In current period of time, project management can be considered as an education platform, which
is helpful in giving assistance to the starting till end of an entire project. In this project report,
here scenario is to develop a software that will be specialised in multimedia application or scope
for hardware development (Butler, 2016). In this first scenario, project is breakdown into
technical situation along with use of skills or competencies of team to put different constituent of
multimedia such as film-making, radio, music, accountants into the one common platform. In
second scenario, tools or techniques will be used to optimises skills or knowledge of the
multimedia team to work effectively on this diverse projects. In this scenario, major focus will be
on what tools or techniques that will be used by project manager of their diverse team in order to
complete this software development project. All three tools or techniques will consists of
description of tools along with benefits, drawbacks and limitation. Lastly, third scenario is based
on various issues might be anticipated such as cost, time, change in culture, skills required etc.,
that would be faced during process of a software development.
In addition to this, report will be done with use of tools or implementation of scenario
which will include critical analysis to get suitable outcomes just after the making of multimedia
software. Also, in this report, breakdown of three different tools or techniques will be taken care
to optimises skills or potential information of diverse team. Along with this, effective results of
this software development project will be undertaken to check level of learning undertaken by
each team member during the process of development of the software (Vijayasarathy, 2017). In
this project, conclusion reveals that structures of this report will be comprehensive along with
development of an actual software product for people to get easy access of the multimedia tools
such as film-making, music, psychology, art, media across national boundaries. In this report,
overall conclusion says that major emphasises will be put on development of skills or
competencies of each team people to access them with development of scope or suitability for
future project based goals or target expectancy for a longer duration or time.

TASK 1
(a) Investigate and recommend three tools or techniques
In project management, this is prominent to utilises quality management or techniques to
ensure that skills or resources of team people must be utilises with an agenda to development of
an effective multimedia software to facilitates it to the customer. Project manager is necessary to
undergo tools related to quality management which says what level of quality need to utilise skill
or competencies of diverse team member's (Schenke and et. al., 2016). A project manager can
use different level of tools or techniques with help of skill or professional knowledge of team
people in a develop manner. The discussion over different tools are as follows:
First tools: PERT(Program evaluation review technique): This is basically tools related to the
planning or control which is useful to complete project in an effective manner. This tool is useful
to analyse time required to led completion of an each task and also an estimation of minimum
time required to complete task in given time. This method was developed by a US navy in 1957.
This involves three different concepts such as optimistic, pessimistic and most likely, for every
activity along with a critical path. This tool will assist project manager to take an effective
decision making in regards with a management of time for multimedia software development.
The major advantage of the PERT will be improvement in planning or decision making
for software development with support of data or information simultaneously. Benefit of this tool
is gathering of qualitative & quantitative data from multiple sources to assist in co-ordination to
this project activities and also improves communication among other team people. The major
disadvantage of the PERT is that it limits use of situation to formulate strategical influences
accordingly to overcome any defined task related to an overall development of this software
development project (Arora and et. al., 2016). Analysis is required in this context to enable the
true or prosperous time.
Second tools: Just in time approach: JIT is an inventory approach or tools, where material is
mainly ordered and also received as are used in development process of multimedia software.
JIT can be used as a tool to reduce costs by saving money or overhead an inventory expenses.
For project manager, opportunity is only limited, when any information is needed to develop the
software of multimedia in given period of time. This says that team will use raw material only

when there is an actual requirements for the same. The reason is that, it will be useful to avoid
over usage of the skills, which means team member will only skills when actually needed.
The benefits of this tool is control over consumption of the cost along with development
of suitability for a longer sources of time. Also, this will assist one to reduce or maintain skills
for usage at time of development of a multimedia software (Hull and et. al., 2016). The major
drawbacks is that, this will led project manager to be get effected by limited usage of skills for
development of software to facilitates it to the people with acceptance to gather suitable
outcomes. If proper steps will not be taken, as a results, this will simply results in gathering of an
updated outcomes.
Third tools: Performance evaluation: Performance evaluation is used to evaluate performance
of each and every team as a group to check how reliable they are to continues skills optimisation
for a longer duration of time. A project manager of this project may be use performance
evaluation as a tool to optimises skills of their team members in order to develop long-worth
scope for building of the software development using of the multimedia. This is majorly helpful
to execute successful starting of this project till its end. Here, project can be initiates with skills
or knowledge of a team members along with durability of project development.
The benefits of this tool is continuous evaluation of a team peoples skills or competencies
in order to utilises it for continuation of project in an effective or a productive manner. Also, this
will in future assist an individual team member's to optimised skills for a suitability to led people
development in a productive manner or process. The major drawback of this tool is only focus on
performance only, but not on skills or knowledge of a person. Scope of performance evaluation
is limited to continual focus on development or check on performance only.
TASK 2
(b) Implementation of the three recommended tools and or techniques
In above analysis, three different tools or techniques has been discussed named as JIT,
PERT analysis and performance evaluation etc. project manager needs to be put their focus on an
implementation of given tools, with an understanding of anticipated issues that could be raised to
rise perfect solution of it in a productive manner. For this project of the multimedia project,

analysis of various tools or techniques will also be taken into the consideration of issues such as
cost, time, CPD, skill required to accomplish project of software development. Implementation
of given tools or techniques are as follows:
PERT analysis: This tool will be implemented with support of the time estimated to
complete defined goals or target of software development in a suitable period of time (Pinto and
Winch, 2016). In this, project manager needs to be focused on development of time based
strategies in order to realise and overcome issues related to cost, time, skills, and manpower
regulation into the given period of time. In this context, project manager needs to be go for time
strategy and also deciding what level of planning shall be taken to overcome this barrier to
complete project accordingly. Here, an issue is ineffective time management and its regulation
for a longer period of time.
Just in time(JIT): This level of tools will be utilised with usage of an effective planning,
on what level, information will be utilised in stage of starting of the project till its completion for
accomplishment of suitable outcomes in given period of time. This tool will be undertaken by
analysing what all sort of information or inventory to be passed to make this tool more effective
or productive towards development or accomplishment of software project. Here, ineffective
training is a major case, where people of this team are not effective trained to carry out in an
effective manner. Project manager needs to provide team member an effective training in order
to build this tool to be learnt in an effective period duration.
Performance evaluation: This technique is majorly used to performance of team member
to carry out this research project at a given point of time. The implementation of this tool is
depends on continuous professional development, which will tell what skills or competencies
does team member have to optimised their skill for accomplishment of project based goals for
software development for multimedia engagement.(Havermans, 2016) Skills deficiencies are one
most if its level of implementation will not be happen.
Recommendation:
From this above findings, it is recommendable that, proper implementation is needful in
case of an effective working or performance in strategic planning will be undertaken to occupy
perfect strategy in order to accomplish defined goals or targets for development of multimedia
software for a productive duration. Also, skills development or professional engagement is
necessary for team member to bring a perfect methodology in case of what strategies can be

taken to lead project from front position to enhance an effective goals or targets accomplishment
in case of what tools or techniques can be taken to develop process or sources of how this project
could be accomplished. This will be advised for project manager to establish a sources, from
where funds can be arranged or managed to accomplish given target of this project for software
development with major purpose to facilitate customer or people in their betterment.
