Planning a Trip to Disneyland California - Project Management

In this project, two families have decided on a 3-day trip to Disneyland California. The families will travel by flight will spend 3 days and 2 nights in California. As per the plan, an estimated schedule and budget have been developed. Based on these initial plans, a project plan has been developed for the trip that the families can use for successfully completing the trip within their schedule and budget.

Scope of Work
The project is based on planning of a short trip to Disneyland California for two families.
The overall trip is for two nights and three days with additional 1 day consumed for travel (up
and down). The trip includes journey, reaching California and looking out for hotel, meals and
travel around.

Schedule Optimization
In order to reduce the overall trip schedule, one recommendation is to hire a tours and
travels company for the entire trip. They will take the families in guided tours and will arrange
flight tickets and hotels themselves, thus reducing the workload on the family heads. However,
this will also incur additional service and other changes of around $750. Hence, the total budget
of the project will increase to $(3250+750) = $4000.
Updated Human Resource Requirements
The updated human resource requirement will include a Tours and Travels company
whose additional charges in $750 for the trip.

Procurement Plan
The flight tickets can be procured from online flight ticket booking app or from the ticket
counter at the airport. The hotel booking can be done on spot at the destination or through online
hotel booking app. In case of tours and travels company, they will arrange for both. Travel
resources and other requirements can be procured from the supermarket.
Risk Management Plan
The possible risks and management plan are enlisted in the table below.

Quality Management Plan
The quality requirements of this project includes quality of living in the hotels and quality
of food. Only positively user rated hotels and verified profiles should be considered instead of
random and cheap hotels. Again, the restaurants for meals should be carefully chosen for getting
good quality food during the trip.

Change Management Plan
Due to some unforeseen incidents, there might be a requirement for change in the project
like change in destination, changed travel date due to flight cancellation and others. It is
advisable to prepare alternative options while planning for the trip.
