Elements of project charter
Scope Overview
The scope of project states all the works those are needed to perform so that the objective
of project is achieved (Meredith, Mantel and Shafer 2017). Scope of the project states processes
that identifies and documents the goal of project, outcomes of project and also includes the
activities, cost and dates of timeline those are needed to complete project.
Business case
The main purpose of business case is documenting the justification for the project to be
undertaken (Nguyen, Mohamed and Panuwatwanich 2018). Project is usually based on an
estimated cost and project development as well as implementation includes project risks and
those are to be stated in the business case of project charter.
Background
Background of a project states the review of area on which the project is dependent and
includes the information that states the issue for which this project has been undertaken.
Background study states the project description and states the main reason for which the project
is being carried out.
Milestone Schedule
Milestone is the schedule that states the summary of the project activities those are to be
carried (Obradović 2018). Gantt charts includes milestones and these milestones helps to divide
the project into phases which are to be completed before moving to the next phases.

Success criteria
Success criteria of the project helps to define the initiatives those are taken by project
manager to complete the deliverables of project (Castro et al. 2019). Project success criteria
helps to complete project successfully and meet the expectation of the customer. Success factors
states the contributions those are made by the management to complete the project.
Risk, assumptions and constraints
Risk includes all the uncertain activities that might delay the project progress or stop the
project to continue further. Proper risk management is to be undertaken in project and risk
management strategies are to be carried in the project.
Assumptions those are included in a project are stated to be true, certain as well as real
without any proof or any demonstration (Mozhei and Lukianov 2019). Project should have some
assumptions to continue and those assumptions are considered as real assumptions.
Resources
Resources in a project are the workers or equipment in which the project completion is
dependent (Zakić, Vukotić and Aničić 2017). The resources in a project might vary depending on
the type of the project that is being undertaken.
Stakeholders
Stakeholders in project charter define those persons who have interest in the outcome of
project (Kerzner 2017). Stakeholders are members of project team and they have invested in the
project to make it complete.

Team operating principles
Team operating principle are included in a project to ensure that the project is completed
with strategic decision making that are associated with organization (Forte and Kloppenborg
2018). The team handling the project needs to value the principles and obey them while working
in project.
