This article discusses the importance of risk registrar in project management and how it helps in identifying, assessing, and managing associated risks. It also highlights the need for effective and structured communication between project members and teams. The article focuses on a case scenario of QAHE business management faculty planning a trip to Uganda for a new sustainable course.

INTRODUCTION
Project management is use of different process, steps, knowledge and capabilities in order
to achieve project objectives so that task can be completed in desired manner. Risk register is
important to be made in project management as it helps in identifying associated risk and the
way they can be minimised so that end outcome can be achieved. This report is about one of the
case scenario of QAHE business management faculty that has planned to designed new
sustainable course for students. So, the report contain necessary information related to new
project management that is planned to start by college in order to meet its end goals in best
possible manner. Furthermore, it has also contained risk management plan, importance of
effectively communication for team work and methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall and
Prince2.
PROJECT 1
A.) Project initiation document
Budgetary information For the new course introduce by QAHE
business management it is planned to organised
a trip so that students can easily learn about
sustainability. Therefore it is decided that each
student need to fund a max of £2,000 thereby in
total £60,000 will be need for the whole trip. In
order to organise a trip to Uganda following
expenditure will be incurred such as :

Objectives  The main objectives of organising the
events are to teach student about
sustainability in better manner.
 To enhance brand image of college so
that more and more students are
motivated to be part of it in order to get
education (Mahmoud-Jouini, Midler,
and Silberzahn, 2016).
 To make and feel students happy and
satisfied that they are studying with such
a university that make use of different
method to teach them.
Approaches There are different approaches of pursuing the
project such as Agile, Waterfall and PRINCE2
methodologies. So out of three methodologies,
the project manager has decided to make use of
prince 2 that contained several information in
more detailed that helps in getting desired
outcome in effectively manner.
Key staff For the project related to trip to Uganda for
sustainable management there will be key staff
member that will be involved such as bus
driver, lecturer and head of college (Portny,
2017).
Stakeholder analysis Stakeholders are key individuals that are

interested in growth and development of
specific project like parents, students, head of
college, lecturer and project manager. It can be
stated that parents are important stakeholders of
the project as they will be the final individual
that will give permission to their children to go
for a trip in order to enjoy. Students are also
necessary stakeholder as they are individual that
will only go to trip to get relevant information
about sustainability for their degree course
(Hoda and Murugesan, 2016). Another key
stakeholder is Project manager that will see that
all task are performed in best possible manners
so that end objectives of the college can be
attained. It will arrange sufficient resources and
facilities so that trip to Uganda can be
organised. Head of college has organised trip
with an aim to enhance or promote its college
brand image so that maximum number of
students are motivated to select it rather than
any other college. Lecturers are also stakeholder
of project as they will take and teach student
about Uganda so relevant information needs to
be provided to them (Elias, 2016). So that they
can make necessary arrangement and teach
student in best possible manner.

B) Importance of risk registrar
Risk registrar is type of risk log that contained necessary information related to the way
risk can be managed or mitigate so that best outcome can be gained. Risk registrar is
brainstorming Framework in which manager as well as stakeholder work together to eradicate
associated risk. It helps in tracking key issue or risk related to particular project and the way they
can be addressed or minimised for achievement of goals. There are different types of risk
associated with particular project such as financial, environmental and safety risk. Therefore it
can be stated that risk register is used to identified, assess and manage the associated risk so that
end objectives of project can be achieved. The main purpose of risk registrar is to record several
detailed related to all risk so that strategies or key action can be decided to implement the same.
It is crucial for project manager to prepare risk management registrar in order to identify
associated risk, find alternatives method or pre and post action the way it can be minimised so
that college can attained its objectives (Mukherjee and Roy, 2017). It also helps project manager
to identified risk that are more likelihood to be happened as compared to others. At the same
time scoring and prioritizing the risk so that effective measure could be taken to minimised them
for better outcome. There are different means through which information can be gathered related
to several risk associated with the project so that mitigating strategies can be decided for
achievement of end goals. So, it can be illustrate that manager needs to invest time and efforts to
make effective risk registrar so that no risk can be avoided and necessary steps can be taken. For
examples: It can be illustrated that covid-19 is one of the real examples or pandemic changes that
has act as risk to the project. As less number of parents are interested to send their student to
Uganda for trip. Therefore, it can be stated that risk management registrar helps in identifying
the way risk can be avoided so that the project can be successful.

C) 1 Needs of effective, structured communication between project members and team
Communication is important process that involves exchanged of information related to
the project so that several task can be completed as per desired and end goals can be achieved. In
context of QAHE business management that has planned to organised a trip to Uganda for its
new course so that students can easily learn about the same. Effectively communication has
contributed in free flow of information and completion of several task and activities as per
desired. Furthermore, structured communication is also important as it helps in finding the way
information will be exchanged in sequence order so that no confusion can be remained at any
end. Therefore, project manager has clearly designed the way information will be communicated
from one person to another that helps in removing all barriers and implementation of plan in
effective manner. Openly and organised structure of communication has contributed in fast flow
of information thus completion of project in minimum time possible. Through effectively
communication, project manager is able to take timely and good decision for the Trip to Uganda
so that it can be made successful (Hyväri, 2016). It has facilities coordination between several
individual that are putting their best efforts in order to complete the task or organised the trip so
that sustainability can be teach to 30 students. Thus, on the basis of better structure
communication effective plan or strategies can be made by project manager to make more better
trip or events to Uganda.
Communication accommodation theory: This theory illustrate that people adjust their
communication styles as per type of people. Such as in order to effectively communicate, project
manager has make use of different styles to share information with different individual or team
member. Thus, it has helped in free flow of information from project manager to team member
and achievement of end goals of the project.
2 Methodologies that are used to run project case
Methodologies are key method or steps that are used for proceeding the project related to
sustainable trip to Uganda. Agile, prince2 and waterfall are several methodologies that are used
can be used for project case so that end outcome can be achieved in best possible manner.
Several methodologies related to above case can be evaluated and analysed as follows:
Agile Methodologies: It is practices of promoting continuous iteration of testing and
development of software development, unlike Waterfall model both activities are concurrent. It

is one of most simplest and effective method that helps in turning vision of enterprise into
software solutions. Agile is mainly employed in order to plan, learn, improve team collaboration
and early delivery. There are four principal or core value on which the agile is based on effective
team and individual interaction, customers collaboration and responding to change. There are
few strength and weaknesses of Agile development which can be illustrated as follows:
Improved quality: The first and foremost benefit of Agile methodologies is to improve products
quality by dividing project into different units. It contributes in effective testing, collaboration
thus making the project more better as compared to others. QAHE business management by
making use of Agile methodologies can delivered solution on time with better services to
students. It helps in fixing and finding defects thus conducting testing and review the process
thus contribute in achieving the end goals of project (Novo, Landis and Haley, 2017).
Highly flexibility: Short cycle and constant iteration allows project to effectively adapt the
project frequently thus easily meet each customers needs in better manner. Thus project manager
need not have to waste its time and resources in order to complete the project. So, it can be stated
that this contribute in making development process more flexible.
Constant interaction: Agile contribute in effective interaction among stakeholder thereby
avoiding making of tons of technical documentation, tools and documentation. Thus, it is
contribute in enhancing creativity, initiative and better results.
Agile weaknesses: Despite of so many strength, there are some weaknesses of the above agile
model which can be illustrated as follows:
Problem with workflow coordination: It can be stated that Agile project involve small team
work that lead several communication which become weak point.
Difficult planning at early stage: The most important process in Agile is planning as it is
necessary to arrange resources, build team and communicated vision. Therefore, it become
somewhat difficult for project manager to make planning at early stage.
Waterfall methodologies: This is most traditional method which is used for project
management in which each member is working in linear manners for achievement of desired
goals of the project. Waterfall methodologies which help in mapping out a project into sequential
phases thus every new phase will be start only when prior phase has been completed. Each team
member involved in implementation of project is clearly defined its roles and responsibilities in
the project thus it helps in effective coordination of diverse individuals towards common goal.

Furthermore, it can be illustrated that it consists of more detailed plan that require single
timelines and changes are often costly (Jovanovic and Beric, 2018). Several advantages and
disadvantages of Waterfall methodologies can be understood:
Uses clear structure: The waterfall is better as compared to other methodologies as emphasis
more on clear and systematic sets of steps that need to be taken in order to complete the task.
Waterfall has simple structure as each project goes through different stages such as gathering of
information, system design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance.
Transfers information well: It is high methodical thus there is no surprise that it helps a clean
transformation of information at each steps. QAHE business management can gain maximum
benefit from its project by putting efforts on staying organised the right process. It also helps in
prioritising accessible information that helps in making several addition to the team.
Weaknesses of Waterfall methodology
Changes are difficult to be made: The greatest weaknesses of waterfall methodology is it is
difficult to make changes as entire project is made on basis of set of steps or proceeds that would
contributed in moving the project further. Therefore it can be stated there is no room for several
changes that need to be make in the project thereby manager needs to effective implement each
steps for better outcome.
Delay testing Until after completion: It can be stated that team has to wait for testing even after
four steps out of six which clearly state that in order to complete the project lot of time need to
be considered. Therefore it is understand that large revision resulted in significant delays thus
ineffective completion of the project.
Prince2 Methodology: It is methodology that is used to structure and answer the basic question
of project management like when the project need to be start, what steps need to be executed, is
any type of help will be required, total cost that will be involved and total time will be taken in
order to complete the task. The methodology stands for project in controlled environment that
helps in organising and controlling project in effectively manner. Prince 2 methodologies more
focused on outcome rather than steps that are taken for planning of the project (Marchewka,
2016). Therefore some of Weaknesses and strength of Prince2 Methodology are explained
below:
Strength: Prince 2 methodologies is preferred by many government and global organisation as it
provide single approach for project management. At the same time it is ease to use, can be easily

learned by any individual without much experienced required. Another strength for prince 2 is
that it helps in clear understanding cost, timescales and risk that are need to in order to complete
the project as all these need to be presented in initial stage. Therefore it is update stage by stage
through revised focused. Last strength of prince 2 methodology is that it include wide- ranging
description of multiple project management team roles.
Weaknesses: Prince 2 does not cover Procurement management and there are some individuals
that belief that Prince 2 does not considered importance of soft skills. Another weaknesses of the
prince 2 methodology is that there are only 2 tools and techniques that are used in project.
Requires senior management experienced to apply it well therefore all such are some of the
weaknesses of the prince 2 methodology.
So, it can be stated that for the project of sustainable trip to Uganda, Prince 2
methodology is fruitful as it contained more information related to cost, experienced and
timescales and risk. It helps in effective management and implementation of project thus
contributing in getting maximum outcome.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from above report that project management involves number of
process that need to be performed in order to get desired outcome. It can also be summarised
from above study that QAHE business management through effectively managing its project
related to sustainable trip is able to enhance its brand image and delivered better experienced to
customers. Therefore it can be understood, that out of all the methodology, prince 2 will be used
by project manager to attain the end goals.
