number of opportunities to the individuals living within the society. Digital technology is an
important element which create both positive as well as negative impact on the functionality of
business organisation (Andrade and Doolin, 2016). With the help of internet, individuals within
the country communicate with other in less period of time which assist in removing the distance.
In the present report various topics are going to be discussed which includes comparison as well
as contrast the positive along with negative use of internet. It has been analysed that there are
large number of threats and opportunities faced by the organisations which might affect the
overall functionality at the competitive marketplace. In addition to this, a discussion is made
where threats of the company is being faced by internet.

computer viruses. This affect safety and security of organisations and society

 However, internet allow society to connect with their friends, family and relatives via
online mode, it significantly loss the human touch. It has been determined that
individuals nowadays are more involves in internet that they have forgotten to interact
with their loved ones physically.
 As internet provide business organisations to have access to customers all around the
world but due to decrease in overhead cost online retailers can effectively provide
consumers with different range of products at cost effective price.
 Nowadays, mainly all business organisations operate their business online
confidentiality and security become major concern. It has been determined that there is
significant increase in threats activities like e-terrorism, viruses and threats. Breach of
data also increased that low down business organisations confidence level (Dutton,

which can occur due to this internet transformation. Challenges faced by internet is very
challenging and also complex. There are many problems which are faced because of this
development of internet. Such as social media attacks where people are sharing their very
personal information is very dangerous. This leads to risks to their most private information
being getting disclosed publicly. All types of people are present on such social media platforms
which can misuse such information and this increase risk on life of people. Also, there has been

inadequate technology of security which which might leads to loosing of security of network.
People are relying heavily on the usage of technology which leads to loosing down of relevant
information (Kiesler, 2014). Frauds and malpractices have also increased because of this
development of technology. Nowadays, people are using smart phones to a great extent and
presence of internet on their portable device leads to its use anywhere, which makes it more easy
for people who want to do a misuse of it. Development of internet has been there but there is not
development of adequate security measures which can reduce the disadvantages of such internet
development. Cyber crimes is also a big threat which is been increasing because of this
development of internet, because of this people have many times suffer from huge losses in
financial terms. Piracy is also a very bog issue which has been developed because of internet
transformation. Hacking is a issue which is being faced by people where they loose their
important data to those people who are using it for committing some malpractice or frauds. All
such practises lead to increase in threat for people and the society as a whole. Attempts are being
continuously made by the government and various concerned authorities that they are able to
reduce the negative effects of internet developments. There are so many ways which can be used
by people who wan to use the technology for harming others. All such issues must be addressed
by people and they themselves have to be aware of the different ways in which technology is
misuse to harm them. This will help them in protecting themselves and at same time such
awareness will reduce the threats of internet to people and society and a whole.

protected from the negative effects of such internet and technology advancements which are

their browsing habits. It has been observed that people use nay site to obtain the information.
This habit of people leads to clicking on some sites which with one click loses down the very
important information. So it is important for people that they must check the authenticity level of
the site which they are suing and then only open. Internet is a endless area which is having no
boundaries, type of information which a person is using must always be reliable to reduce any
chances of threat (Yar and Steinmetz, 2019).
Carefully using the social media: social media is a platform whose usage is growing
and its popularity is also increasing. This has lead to lot of changes in the lifestyle of people and

and they try to make misuse of this type of information and commit various crimes. So it is
important for people that they must share very limited information and unknown people must
also not be added by them (Margolis and Moreno-Riaño, 2016).

a great preventive measure which can help people from loosing down their information. Many
networks use the browning history of people and that information can be easily use anywhere. So
the most important measure to prevent this is to clear out the cache and their search history.
