INTRODUCTION
Smoking is injurious to health, smoking cessation is the condition when individual
discontinue using tobacco (Lines, Lepore and Wiener, 2015). Smoking is the main issue that
causes many diseases in human being. Nicotine makes person addicted to it which impacts on
lungs and other body part of individual. Most of the smokers find it difficult to leave this habit
easily. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the lung disease due to which
idiosyncratic face difficulty in breathing (Sagner and et.al, 2016). Present report will discuss the
behaviour of medical professionals and care system for the patients those who are suffering from
the COPD. Furthermore, impact of providing effective health care and well-being information on
the person's health will be described in this study.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is the issue which impacts on lungs of the patient.
People those who smoke in access in the initial phase they have to suffer from this medical
illness. It mainly occurs in the middle aged or older people those who smoke regular. In the
initial phase it creates breathing problem in body but later on it adversely affects lungs of
smoker. Diligent has to get treatment in the earlier phase so that consequences of this medical

Medical professionals are required to treat such patients properly so that they do not get
dishearten and can recovered soon. In the COPD condition person has to face huge pain in lungs
and go through from breathing problem which make them irritating. In such condition they
behave rude with others and do not cooperate with the medical professionals well (McDowall
and et.al, 2017). It is the duty of health care providers that to understand situation of patients and
treat well to them. They have to behave clam with them and motivate them so that care users feel
encouraged in their life. Government has made legislation and standards which support hospitals
in improving their services and providing quality care to diligent.
Medical professionals need to support such patients those who are suffering from COPD
and have to make them clam so that they feel good in the hospitals (Gureje and et.al, 2015). They
have to keep their issue confidential so that no other person react negative with them. Difference
in culture and beliefs is the main issue in the health care sector. In such condition it becomes
very difficult for the care providers to communicate with them and their family properly. It may
create confusions and they fail to make patients understand about their condition. It is the
responsibility of the medical professionals that to behave with them well and coordinate with
them in sign language so that no confusion take place. It is the duty of practitioners that to
understand their condition, their pain, effects of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on the

The main cause of this medical illness is smoking, Tobacco make the person addicted to
it and after some time individual feel difficult to leave this habit. In such condition medical
professionals need to be aware with the condition of tolerant and have to give them proper
counselling so that individual can try to leave this habit and can get recovered soon (Sohl, Birdee
and Elam, 2016). UK has taken strong initiative to reduce the cases of such patients, authorities
have given comprehensive support to smokers so that they can leave this bad habit. Under these
service's practitioner provides practical support and pharmaceutical support to the diligent. Apart
from this positive behaviour and proper counselling is given by medical professionals. This helps
persons in avoiding smoking and improving their health as well. In such program, care providers
train the smokers and give them advice so that they can leave this habit soon (Arnold, 2015).
NCSCT also provides behaviour support to patients those who are suffering from chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease. It is the belief of the medical professionals that if they behave

well with the patients then it may give them mental relaxation and they will be able to recover
soon. High quality services and proper care to such patient can support in improving health
condition of these persons (Willis and Rayner, 2013). Practitioners are required to examine the
level of disease in the patient and accordingly they have to treat them. If the person is in the
initial phase then medication and mental relaxation can improve condition. Doctors need to take
support of this therapy in order to treat them. And if the condition of the person is not good then
medical professionals have to make the person understand about situation so that patient
corporate with them properly. This can build confidence of the care users and they will take the
treatment easily (Chung and et.al, 2016).
It is the duty of health care provider that to keep the personal information of the person
confidential and always maintain integrity in care home. It helps in protecting the rights of
patients. They have to treat them well so that mental and physical condition of diligent can get
improved soon. Medical professionals have to follow standards and have to maintain equality in
the hospitals. They have to raise confidence of the person so that individual can take the

Advocacy is the main responsibility of the medical professionals and they have to
maintain it. They need to provide treatment to patients in such manner so that their interest can
be protected. It can build trust of users and they will share their feelings with the doctors easily.
This will help the providers in giving quality treatment to them and improving their health

Involvement of patients plays significant role in improvement of care services of the
hospitals. If patients support to medical professionals then practitioners will be able to
understand their needs and will be able to make sound decisions for improving health condition
of the care users. Doctors and other staff have to face difficulty when belief and values of them
are differed from patients. In such condition care users fail to get satisfactory treatment by the
providers. Difference in values and belief impact on the care of patients (What Is COPD?, 2017).
Due to different beliefs they fail to coordinate with each other’s well and fail to understand their
opinion. Sometimes it creates big confusion and after that medical professionals fail to provide
them quality treatment so that smokers can get recover from their chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease.

Sensitivity is the main part of code of conduct which means doctors have to give respects
to the patients. It is the duty of medical professionals that to provide proper care to them and give
respect to them as well (Chung and et.al, 2016). It not only improves care user's confidence but
also make them feel happy by this way they support staff members and take timely treatment for
their disease. But difference in beliefs and values can hurt the feeling of patients. It impacts
negative on them and they do not trust on the medical professionals. They get emotionally hurt
and they leave the hospital without taking complete treatment (Lines, Lepore and Wiener, 2015).
It is the fact that families, friends always be in the hospitals with the care users. It is the
duty of doctors that to give respect as well and make them understand with the condition of
patient. But due to difference in belief create problem in communication and they fail to make
others understand. Cultural beliefs, social aspects, religion impact on the overall working of the
medical professionals. It helps them in coordinating with others well and if they are unable to
understand their belief then they need to report to higher authorities so that concern person can
take immediate action to improve the condition of the patients (Sagner and et.al, 2016).
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is the progressive lung disease which destroys air
sacs in the human body and individual feel difficult to take breath properly. In the initial phase of
COPD patient have to get suffered from coughing and shortness of breath. But later on individual
feel difficulty in breathing. Person may feel tightness in the chest as well. One of the main cause
of occurring this medical illness is smoking. Tobacco not only impacts the nervous system but
also affect the lungs of individuals badly (Gureje and et.al, 2015). It makes them person addicted
to it due to which individual have to suffer from many mental and physical illness.
Issues that are faced by the patient of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are such as
shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, lack of energy, swelling, weight loss etc. All these
medical issues makes them person irritating and individual fail to complete their routine
activities effectively. Tobacco smoking is the main cause of this illness, approx. 23 to 30%
persons those who are chronic smoker may suffer from COPD. People those who have smoking
history their lungs fail to perform work properly and after diagnosis doctors may realise that it is
difficult to treat them if they do not support the medical professionals (Arnold, 2015).
Airway obstruction create problem for the medical professionals and individual fail to
work properly. The main reason of this obstruction is emphysema and chronic bronchitis. When
the person smoke in access then in majority cases lungs of individual get failed to perform well.

branch of health care system in which doctors identify complexity of the situation and
accordingly give them appropriate treatment. It helps in building trustworthy relationship with
the patients. By this way care users discuss their problems with staff members easily and they

Holistic care pays more attention on making people understand with their medical illness
such as COPD so that they understand their responsibility and take care of their well-being in
order to live a healthy life. Medical professionals treat such patients by using Holistic approach
in which they provide emotional support, education, financial benefits, accommodation in
hospitals, recreation so that such patients can get recovered soon and can live a healthy life
(Donald and et.al, 2014).
Autonomy is another system related with health care which explains that patients have
rights to make their own decisions related with treatment. Staff members cannot force them to
take particular tending for their disease. Autonomy of diligent, gives rights to care providers that
to make the person aware with their illness and give them chance to make decision for their own.
The main advantage of this policy in the health care system is to improving economic efficiency,
maintain fairness and improve psychology of the person. Autonomy impacts positive on care
users and they get to know complexity of their disease and what kind of treatment would be
better for them. It develops relationship between medical professionals and patients (Lines,

would be difficult for the care providers to provide them accurate treatment for the medical
illness (De Raeve and et.al, 2017). Doctors need to take concern from the care users, it will help
in minimizing the future complexity. By this way care providers will be able to give them
necessary care which will improve the condition of patients those who are suffering from COPD.
People those who are suffering from the COPD are incapable to do regular exercise so medical
professionals need to make them understand the importance of hard efforts if they put in regular
exercise and medication. This will make them positive and they will take right decision which
will help in getting accurate treatment for their medical illness. Autonomy is part of health care
ethics. Individual has right to control over their body, care providers can suggest them for
particular treatment but final decision is depended upon the action of patients. Individual can
take decision on the bases of their personal belief and values. Doctors and nursing staff can guide
them so that they can get their concern for providing quality care to the COPD patients (Willis
and Rayner, 2013).
Choice is another important element of health care system. All patient have rights to
make their own choice. Sometimes patients does not have financial capabilities to get advance
medical treatment. It is the responsibility of health care professionals that to make the person
understand with their illness and its drawbacks. After that they have to provide them mental,
financial support to these care users. This may help in changing their choice and they will take
right decision for their own (Donald and et.al, 2014). This can help in improving the condition of
the patients by getting right treatment on right time.
Empowerment is another basic concept of the health care system. Empowering users can
build relationship between medical professionals and patients and they will be able to coordinate
well. This may help in identifying health care needs of users and doctors will be able to provide
them quality treatment as per their treatment. It is considered as preferred term from the point of
view of patient advocacy. It is the duty of the care providers that to involve them in decision
making process (De Raeve and et.al, 2017). This can help in addressing their health issues and
identifying their historical background. By this way staff members will be able to make

appropriate choice for them in respect to provide them good treatment which can improve their
health soon. Empowerment can be defined as process through which individual can get more
power to control over their decisions and taking proper actions to improve their well-being. In
the present era patients always want transparent, convenient, personalised and affordable
services (Arnold, 2015). This can help them in improving their health condition. Sometime
private doctors take decision on behalf of patients and recommended them costly treatment. As it
is not affordable by the persons so they do not get accurate treatment in the care homes.
Empowering users is included in the code of conduct in which medical professionals are required
to give power to the care users to take their own decision after identifying their health condition.
They provide them all emotional and financial support so that patients can take right decision for
the improvement. This helps the patients those who are suffering from COPD in improving their
health condition and recovering soon from this medical illness (Chung and et.al, 2016.).
Healthy life style is the important part of human being, if the person is living with wrong
life style then it can impact on their health and it can damage their body to great extent. Smoking
is the great issue in the recent era, youngsters get into this habit in the early age. This smoking
habit and use of tobacco makes the person addicted to it. After that it becomes very difficult for
them to leave this habit. If the person is smoking since long time then it impacts on the body,
lungs and nervous system of the human being (Lines, Lepore and Wiener, 2015). This increases
disease like COPD etc. It is essential for the users that to adopt right life style so that they can
live a healthy life for longer duration. Now-a-days people do not have sufficient time for
physical exercise it also impacts on their body and they become fatty which causes many
diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure etc. Proper exercise, healthy diet and healthy life
style can keep individual away from the medical illness (Sohl, Birdee and Elam, 2016). By
implementing healthy life style in their life person can improve their well-being and this can help
in living a long life.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that health is wealth. Smoking is the bad habit
which causes medical illness in the human body. COPD is the main issues which is caused by
smoking of the person. It is essential for the medical professionals that to provide them proper
care and behave appropriate with them. This can help in improving their emotional and mental
capacity by this way they will share their problems with doctors. This can help in providing them

quality treatment as per their medical condition. Furthermore, it can be articulated that
empowerment and holism are included in the code of conduct of health care system. Care
providers need to take care of this approach and have to protect rights of patients so that care
users can take their own decision. This raises confidence of them and they will coordinate with
the staff members well. This will build strong relationship between them which will assist in
improving health of the person.
