4.2 Impact of natural disaster on tourism industry of country
The natural disaster affect the country's tourism sector to a great extent. It has direct
relevance with the attractive location and natural beauty of the same. Lu and Nepal (2009)
asserted that earthquake is directly associated with land which destroy the lucrative places of
nation in very less time. This negative aspect not only affect the tourism but also the other
businesses like aviation, hotel and clothing industry. Nyaupane, Morais and Dowler (2006)
explained that, natural disaster automatically reduced the arrival for a a particular nation due to
insecurity as well as uncertainty.

The earthquake of Nepal left the tourism in loss or even at the ending phase. This is
because visitors affected badly and they cannot be attracted even at the high level of promotion.
Shiwaku and et.al., (2007)viewed that earthquake ruined attractive destinations like Kathmandu,
world's largest and holiest Tibetan Buddhist stupa along with other attractive sites. It now require
million of dollars to rebuild the structure of tourism and generate the trust among visitors.
Cooper and Schindler (2010) quoted that many of tour operator lost their businesses and are not
able to find employment. Such kind of critical situation affected overall economy of Nepal in
worst manner. Due to occurrence of disaster of earthquake in Nepal most of the tourists arriving
from international level cancelled their trip to Nepal. Further, it had adverse impact on the

flow of more funds from international level but due to earthquake flow of funds may be
adversely affected. In short level of income earned by government declined at faster pace. The
adverse impact can also be seen on employment opportunities where in country like Nepal
tourism provides large number of opportunities to local individual and presence of natural

industry is the foremost sector of income generation for Nepal and the same left the country in
danger just because of natural disaster.

5 METHODOLOGY
5.1Introduction
Research methodology is the important part of any study because it consists of range of
tools and techniques which will be used by researcher to collect and analyze the data. It consists

be explained in detail.
5.2Research Philosophy
In the current study interpretivism research philosophy will be used to understand the
social environment and accordingly gather the information (Corbetta, 2009). The reason behind
selection of this philosophy is to interact with multiple nature of reality and collect relevant
information.

wide range of data and to make an in-depth investigation of such. The use of descriptive research
design is to describing people who take part in the study.
5.4 Data collection, analysis and presentation of results
There are two types which will be collected in the present report. These are primary and
secondary. Here, primary data will be collected with the interaction of tourists. Similarly,
secondary data will be collected by accessing number of secondary sources like journals, books
and online material (Freshwater, 2008). Furthermore, thematic analysis will be used to analyze
both primary and secondary data. In addition to this, graphical representation of primary data
will be analyzed in context of themes. Apart from this, tabular form will also be used for the
presentation of collected of collected data.
5.5 Sampling and ethics
Sampling refers to individual unit of population. Here, simple random sampling is used to
select the 50 respondents. However, all tourists will serve as the population from which sample
