Self Efficacy Theory
Managing the individuals’ capability of performing the responsibilities is determined as
self-efficacy. For instance, the self-efficacy of a teacher revolves around his/her capabilities of
providing the desired learning objectives to the students. The high level of self-efficacy of a
teacher determines the better educational outcomes. Similarly, the low level of the self-efficacy
visible within the teacher may inhibit the achievement level in the school. Some of the
environmental and personal factors create the significant impacts on developing the self-efficacy.
A person’s ability of completing any specific task, seeking supports from others, and modeling
successful people are included in these factors. A teacher’s self efficacy depends on the adequate
knowledge about the contents in the class, patterns and behavioral aspects, academic adjustments
of the students, and practices inside the classroom. In addition to this, the psychological well
being, such as job satisfaction, personal achievements, and adjustments with others are also the
considerable factors in terms of developing the self-efficacy of a teacher. As stated by Bandura
(1994), the beliefs of a teacher about the self-efficacy have the ability to create more motivations
in the workplace that would eventually contribute to the school society.
In other words, self efficacy is suggested as one’s beliefs and ability to strategically
develop and execute any relevant actions that are required for a particular scenario. Bandura also
provided the insight that the sense of self efficacy of an individual is similar to a powerful human
characteristic that creates the influences on the efforts and choices towards a particular task.
Moreover, it also creates the significant effects on individual choices to put the efforts or provide
the ample amount of time required to finish the task (Sharp 2016). Hence, it can be inferred that

the self-efficacy has the significant position. Shedding lights on the suggestion of Pajares, it is
nnoticed that an individual needs to make a choice of selecting a task by focusing on the level of
competence. In such cases, the role of self-efficacy is much remarkable to understand the ability
of an individual.
I strongly believe that self efficacy theory would be relevant for my research area. It is
notable that high level of self efficacy is advantageous for the teachers. The teachers who have
the high level f self efficacy, spend more time along with sufficient effort to ensure the success
of the students. They usually demonstrate the competency skills to bring new ideas and show
greater enthusiasm to facilitate changes. In fact, the efficient teachers with high self efficacy help
in identifying the learning gaps and critical qualities of the students. The recognition of the
possible reason of the low performance provides them the insights about the areas of
improvement. Accordingly, they lead the students towards the right direction to make them
accomplish their goals. As Sharp (2016) stated, such characteristics of the teachers would help in
developing a prospective classroom by gaining insights about the critical success factors of the
student.
