INTRODUCTION Public services are tend to be considered as a so essential for the modern society in order to fulfill the needs of the people. These services are generally provided by the government to the people living within its jurisdiction. This is mainly represented through the social consensus with the facilities in which certain services are available to all the people in the society. This report will be completely based on the British Broadcasting Corporation which is a British Public service Broadcast company. It is the public service organization which mainly provides the broadcasting of news and other current affairs. This Study will help in developing a clear understandingabouttheorganizationstructureandoperationalactivitiesofthepublic organization. Moreover the report will also develop a understanding about the actions and directions of the Public sector which influence the public decision via media news. Also, it will also provide various different types of funding sources which are adopted by the public sector organizations and its impact on the Public sector. The present study will also create an understandability regarding the strategies which are adopted by the Public sector organization in order to improve the performance as well customer satisfaction. Along with this the development of the public service organization will also been explored in order to understand the evolution of the Public services. LO1 P1Development of the public services At the time of independence public sector is not taking part in the economic activity of the country. As there were not much involvement of public services for the development. There were only railways, port trust and the aircraft. After independence there is a huge expansion in the public sector that was governed under the Industrial policy,1956. After this policy there are many changes occurred in the public sector enterprises. As in this various facilities is provided to the people who are working under this (Ferlie and Ongaro, 2015). They are given facilities such as respect of credit, allocation of resources, preference in the market etc. Nowadays, public sector is growing day by day and has a large share in the market. Due to changes in the technology that will help in enhancing this sector to one level up. This includes departmental enterprises, financial institutions and government companies. As non-departmental enterprises having 75 percent of addition in the value and there is growth in the investment is of 1
about 50 percent that is about total of the employment in the public services. Under public sector there are some central government departments that include banks, financial institutions etc. In this there is an increase in investment that has significant growth. As in 1960-61 there is growth of investment that is 19.3 percent and then it will decline again in 1968-69. Again there is increase that will remain consistent during some years that will be providing a drastic change in the economy. Under this financial services is the most important part that will help in deciding budget of the country as there are different services that is being involved under this sector. It is comprising central and state government that are working under it. Earlier there are no facilities provided to the employees who are working under public sector. There are different development that is necessary for this. There are different reforms that is run under this sector. There are many aspects that will helpful for various aspect in the company (Smith,Messenger and Soderland, eds., 2017). Therefore, there is development inthe public services. Public administrative reforms will help in increasing share in the public service department of the country. P2 Development of BBC company British Broadcasting Company (BBC) was formed on 18 October 1922 by John Reith. As it is the broadcasting company that provide telecommunication services to the people of United Kingdom. It is the oldest organisation that will be serving broadcasting facilities to the people of the country. This company is progressing in various sector of the broadcasting channel. There are few people who are the regular customer of the company that will help in generating revenue for the future. Contemporary practice that will include various segments of the public services that will help in creating value in the marketplace. As there are many ways that will be more important as practices are set down through various segments that will be providing different aspect of the country. As this will lead to create different perspective in public sector. These practices are providing benefit to the public sector. Various methods will be used for determining growth in the public services. As historical practice is different from the traditional practice that will be gaining more opportunities in the future. There are various aspects that will be provided into various segments that will be helpful in the country. There are various sectors that are underdeveloped due to no proper facilities that is being given to different sectors. There are 3
various forms that will be beneficial for future and help in getting involved in various practices that is being practice in the country (Coule and Bennett, 2018). Historical practice is different from various aspects that will be lead in creating different segments that will be leading in various services that will help in development of various aspect that will be increasing sources in the public services. Public service is emerging its operation nowadays that will lead to create different approaches as it is providing various segments that will be getting into different perspective for this sector. LO2 P3 Organizational structure of theBritish Broadcasting Corporation BBC is a Public service organization which serves the public with the updated news and current affairs from many years. This is one of the largest broadcasting news organizations in the world and this company provides the 120 hours of television and radio entertainment every day. This organization is one of the first radio bulletin from radio station(Debackere and Veugelers., 2016). This was one of the strong competitions all around the world and it has exploited the revenue generation of news paper publisher. Then further many news publishers persuaded government to ban the shows. This company is the England’s Public service broadcaster and its headquarters are located in London within the Broadcasting house. BBC world news is owned and managed by BBC Global News Ltd in which the number if BBC commercial group of companies is basically funded by the subscription of the users and it can also generate the revenue via advertising a particular company or by performing promotional activities. In addition British Broadcasting Corporation mainly follows the Hierarchical structure within the business in order to communicate instructions and orders from the higher management authority people to the lower management employees. BBC is a Statutory corporation which is involved in independent and direct government interventions. Along with this, BBC provides the world wide news to its customers so, this company operates the business and also this corporation has the following in-house division covering theoutput and operations of the business.Alongwiththis,BBCMainlyfollowsthemixorganizationalstructure.This organization follows the operational divisions, as well as hierarchical structure within the organization(Brignall and Ballantine, 2017).
