INTRODUCTION
Quality management is important at workplace because it creates a positive
environment in business so that employee works properly. Also, with proper implementation
of QM customer loyalty and trust also increases which improves performance level of
organisation. Tesco, which is Multinational Corporation and largest supermarket
headquartered in UK. Firm maintain and adopts quality management in effective manner
through their customer base becoming ore stronger. This report includes importance of
quality in organisation, advantages and disadvantages of working towards quality system
with real life business examples & information related to entity.
TASK 1
Explain why quality is important in an organisation
In business, an entrepreneur is only able to successfully run functions, operations &
activities if there is availability of quality in process. At every phase of business it is crucial
to produce effective services, goods or products with good quality. This is because it leads to
increase in relationship between customer as well as enterprise, profit, revenue and goodwill
also increases. In relation with Tesco, company has been satisfying customers across the
globe which motivates them to provide more effective quality of product to them. Thus, it
attracts & fulfils the need and requirement of people. Each and eve entity need to maintain
standards at every stage of business (Suthers, 2019).
Importance of quality to firm-
Quality products increases stability of end users enhances sales revenue for longer
period of time.
It improves & enhances retention period of customers which also leads to more
demands of goods in market.
Further, when quality is adopted by corporation a fresh new environment is being
established which motivates employee to work appropriately.
In entity, ethics are followed properly when high level of quality is maintained. This
also means that everyone is entitled to maintain quality in management.
In relevance with Tesco, they have separate quality management team which make
ensures that it is managed everywhere in the store. This makes them different from their
competitors. Also, standards are considered as important part of quality which specifies
proper guidelines and areas where it is needed the most. Each store of Tesco is well
organised & provides its customers with good services. Further, every product in store is

examined properly if any of them is not in condition then that one is removed or replaced
with another quantity (Fiorino, 2020).
With help quality standards it becomes easy for enterprise to determine as well as analyse
that all products or goods are ready to consume by end users without any defects. Thus,
maintaining of quality minimises the chances of errors as well as conflicts in process which is
beneficial for each & every firm. Moreover, selected firm conducts meeting every week
regarding how to increase more quality of their product. Because the have been able to
maintain their position in market because of keeping total quality management as top
priority. Also, they keep updating their quality standards so that awareness is created
amongst the people within a management. Furthermore, packaging is done properly so that
order products and goods online do not get harm by anything. By maintaining quality in
business, standards of company also get increased. This motivates them to be more
responsible towards their TQM which is total quality management. Manager, HR & quality
inspector keep knowledge & awareness about very store weather they are maintaining quality
or not. In relation with selected brand, they revise their products & goods with their quality
so that checking is done appropriately for example- expiry date, ingredients, packaging, etc.
are some the elements which are checked properly. This specifies that they are aware about
their roles & responsibilities. The main reason is that they believe that if customers are
satisfied than profit is automatically generated for longer period of time (Djordjevic, 2020).
Through managing quality in firm, people received health goods & also chosen entity
deliver gym food too. Corporation which fails to manage the QM is unable to survive in
market. Thus, when it is managed standards are to be updated as well as considered so that
process or measures are being carried out appropriately. It helps them to know about their
weak spot & accordingly manpower as well as resources are used. (Alglawe, 2019).
After a brief analysis of above matter it is analysed that without quality it is not possible
for organisation to achieve goals as well as objectives in proper manner. So, it is duty of
manager to determine that appropriate standards are used for managing quality so that
decisions are taken accordingly. Further, it is not easy to maintain quality because it took
time to examine everything & then take decisions about the product. Many firms are
available which hires the quality management group which helps them to check quality pf
product or goods & also provide effective measures to the same situation.

Each and every enterprise adopts quality system so that they are able to achieved
goals and objectives in proper manner. Without QS, it is not possible to increase profitability,
productivity, or revenue in business. It is time consuming process but effectively used at
larger level to enhance trust of customers. Therefore, proper planning is to be done so that
measures are adopted properly. Thus, when QS is implemented proper research is to be
conducted so that results are achieved.
Advantages- (Public business)
Quality systems in Tesco are well managed as well as maintained as because they use
appropriate standards to their product. Also, they keep update themselves about their
standards which allow them to enhance their efficiency level.
Also, adopting quality system as part of business, increase their control of business on
processes as well operations.
Further, benefit is that in public business it stimulates other businesses also to adopt
QS in proper manner.
Moreover, in public businesses many shareholders are involved which makes it
benefit for entity to because awareness is created easily about quality of the product
(Araújo, 2019).
Disadvantages-
When quality system is adopted, it becomes difficult to implement it properly because
it took time to revise all the products and present them again.
It is also seen that Tesco put huge capital amount in their business mostly on
maintaining quality of each product.
Further it is also stated that when working towards quality system chances of errors
and conflicts increase which disrupts the environment of business.
Private business- In private business also quality system is used for enhancing the customer
trust so that they are able to sale their product effectively (Ishida, 2019).
Advantages-
In private business, implementation of quality system enhances their productivity of
business. For example- JCB have good quality management as they acquire quality of
tools and equipment and sell them to other brands.
Further, going through QS they are able to acquire new knowledge and information
about quality as well as quality standards.
With help of QS, JCB in UK maintain their products efficiency as well as quality
which make them different from their rivals.
Moreover, quality system in private business also assists them in joining with quality
management group so that right measures are adopted in further process.

Disadvantages-
Main limitation of working towards quality system in private business is that at time
of communication it becomes difficult to manage and maintain everything because of
difference in opinions and perceptions (Nemet, 2020).
Also, it is not possible for JCB to consistently adopt the quality management
decisions every time because it is costly and increases cost of production (Marques,
2019).
After a brief analysis of above matter, it is examined that quality management is
different in both private as well as public business. Thus, accordingly decisions in
organisation are made so that quality system is adopted appropriately.

CONCLUSION
After a brief analysis of above report, it is concluded that quality ad quality
management are two different concepts which are to be adopted by every firm in their
management as well as business. Also, it is also seen that not every company is able to adopt
quality because it is cost expensive. Moreover, both public and private business uses quality
management differently. Further, advantages & disadvantages of quality have been discussed.
Thus, when using quality in firm proper measures are to be adopted so that conflicts as well
as errors do not arise.
