diverse stories. Also, Ms. Hernandez might give Eric the impression that she is not listening to
him and keeps talking, in this case, Eric has to wait until she finishes her speech to him then he
can comment. Moreover, Ms. Hernandez is likely to display a serious attitude, Eric should watch
his words not to include funny or slang words and control his facial expression in order to show

Ms. Hernandez is highly dominant and can express strong opinions. A person
like her finds difficulties in establishing cooperative relationships. She could be stuck
in the excess zone and faces the danger of becoming rigid and lacks the flexibility
required to maintain good relations with people. Style flexing is important to directive
people as Ms. Hernandez, it enables her to change her communication style to
effectively communicate with Eric. Communicating in a more agreeable way to an

for Erik's opinions. Using a decent way of asking for what she needs instead of giving
orders. Moreover, to use the questioning technique in order to give Eric time and a

cooperation.

Hernandez is to keep the relationship businesslike. Ms. Hernandez communication style refuses
any type of strong relationship in business. She would deny friendship in the working
relationship. As Eric wants to build rapport, he should flex to the directive style of Ms.
Hernandez through being specific, give a brief comment, use time in an efficient way and go to
the point. He also has to be logic when presenting the facts and to answer in a direct way when
she asks him any question. Eric has to show confidence in his speech. He should also be
prepared for probable questions and be able to present facts. It is preferred that he develops a

Harvard business school was founded in 1945 through launching its executive education
program for executives and veterans. Then it has continued to help business leaders with diverse
backgrounds, countries and occupations. The school has a global footprint in management
courses. Harvard business school aims to educate leaders who could make a difference to the
whole world. It focuses on individuals who enjoy the competencies of leadership (Harvard
Business School, 2018).

Self-esteem is the feeling the individual has about self-concept. The positive self-concept
helps the individual to feel as alive, self-aware, competent and significant. It stems mainly from
the type of person the one likes to become. The parts of oneself that he ignores are being chosen
by him to be ignored as he feels uncomfortable with them (Schutz, 2018).This is what had
happened with Edward and led him to ignore what he needs to know.
The low self-esteem people have to find ways to know the facts about
themselves rather than denying them. Also, they have to realize and assure that their
actions lead to their goal. A good feedback from surrounding people is beneficial to
assist them in correcting their actions. Moreover, to seek new knowledge to develop
their personality in a positive way. In addition, making decisions assist in developing
confidence in the person judgments and enables him to select among several options
through living consciously.

employees' personalities and their weaknesses. A good leader can enhance the skills of
the employees through creativity and innovation that gives them self- confidence he
needs. Also, the delegation is likely to empower the employees and give them the

When an individual seeks a career, he has to prepare himself through acquiring
the required knowledge to build his strengths. He has to experience different activities
as taking training courses, engage in an internship and attend career fairs (Reece &
Reece, 2017). An employee with high self-esteem is highly motivated to high perform
his job and to maintain cognitive consistency (Ferris, Lian, Brown, Pang & Keeping,
2010). Feedback helps the employees to enhance their productivity. The employee's
likelihood to feedback is expected to result in high performance through the delivery
of the constructive feedback message (Kuhnen & Tymula, 2009).

A mentor is a person who can develop another individual's skill through
mentoring, coaching and guidance. Mentoring could be done formally through
organizations that have experience in dealing with the individual needs through
mentoring programs. The case of Edward was treated by Professor Zuboff and her
husband in a formal way. The advantage with the formal mentoring is the creative
forms they use and the effective tools (Reece & Reece, 2017).

At workplace, workload might motivate the employee desire to have a
mentoring guidance. There is also the informal mentoring that could be done by
individuals who do not belong to a certain organization. It is important to the
individual to take the initiative of searching for a mentor who can act as a good coach,
a credible person that could be trusted to talk with and make sure he can provide a
good advice (Reece & Reece, 2017). Mentoring relationship could take place with family
members, experienced adults, teachers and neighbors. This is called the natural
mentoring relationships that emerge from the social networks. The advantage of
natural mentors is that they provide an ongoing support and guidance with constructive
instructions and encouragement. The team leader at work could be the direct mentor of
the employee, as they share knowledge and skills with each other.
The mentoring relationship involves some sort of risk, as the relationships that end prematurely
or in case the mentor do not attend regularly might have a negative impact on the mentee
self-esteem. The disappearance of the mentor can cause a feeling of rejection to the
mentee as he might feel rejected (Schwartz, Lowe & Rhodes, 2012)
