INTRODUCTIONThis project report will cover importance of referencing in academic writing. Academicwriting depends more on written ideas and experience of authors. It uses ideas and research fromother sources like books, journals, websites, articles and many more. In this project report it isalso going to discuss what referencing about and the link between referencing and plagiarism.Plagiarism is the practise that shows taking of someone's else ideas and pass them in your ownreport.(Thompson, 2017.) Furthermore, importance of health and social care is also going todiscuss in this report.Formative assessment.What does referencing mean in academic writing.Referencing plays an important role in academic writing. Generally academic writingdepends more on written ideas and experience of authors. It uses ideas and research from othersources like books, journals, websites, articles and many more. These sources used to get supportfrom author's ideas so that it help writer to discuss, analysis, or to critic from other sources.Referencing which used in report helps reader to show that from where author get ideas to writethat report.(Knight, and et.al ., 2018.) It helps to avoid plagiarism and enable reader if they wantoriginal content to work. Is also helps reader to show dated information of written content. Inacademic wring referencing in report helps to validate arguments which written by author. It alsogives credit to original author for views and ideas they share in their own report.What is referencing about.Referencing is a term which allow writers to write and acknowledge contribution of otherwriter in their report. But the report which is written must contain Citation in their report whichshows proof from where report has been written. It is an evidence which shows that from whichsupport assignation has been written. By doing these in research report work of particular scholarhave been appreciated and it is way to provide respect in their intellectual property write. Byproviding referencing in report is a way to show marketer that writer are aware of the field onwhich report is written.Link between referencing and Plagiarism.All academic work created with help of previous scholars. But to show other from wherereport has been written clear and accurate referencing is to be done in the research report of thewriter. If a person taking content of someone else report and does not provide details ofwriting report and words are exactly matching with someone's else report where rephrasing of asentence is not done by person then plagiarism came in report writing.(Williams, and Device,2017) Plagiarism is known to a serious offence if proper referencing has not been providing inwriting research report. Plagiarism in referencing can be avoided by planing and managing workand paraphrasing needs to be in their own words and that would completely be different fromauthor's text.What is Plagiarism and how does referencing prevent it. Plagiarism is the practise that shows taking of someone's else ideas and pass them inyour own report. It is always easy to write someone's report content but not easy to get trap inplagiarism. It is known to be an act of fraud which leads to serious offence sometimes.Plagiarism also occurs when report is giving incorrect information about the source which ismentioned. It also occurs when you copy media from other website and paste it in your ownreport, same is the case with coping video. There are 6 ways from where plagiarism can beavoided. Paraphrase.It can be done by reading author's text and write it in own words if particular informationhas been found. In doing rephrasing make sure that more than two words will not be repeat inone sentence.Citing. It is known to an effective way to avoid plagiarism in sentence. By doing this fullknowledge of particular author has been provided to readers so that if they want original contentin their work they get from the citation which is provided in report.(Ahmed, and et.al ., 2017.)Referencing.It is the most important way to avoid plagiarism in report. By doing referencing inresearch report plagiarism can be avoided because it is including in plagiarism, particularinformation about author and date of publication is provided in referencing by which intellectualproperty write of the author can not avoid.Quoting.2
