INTRODUCTION
Sustainable development is a term that uses to define integration of economic, social and
environmental objectives in order to meet the need of present without conceding the ability of
future generations (Bende-Nabende, 2017). For an organisation Sustainability is essential in
order to attain long term prosperity against global companies. This report is going to cover
different sustainable development goals that assist in providing future growth. These kind of
practices aid to take action to end poverty and ensure prosperity as well as well-being.

The 17 SDGs: why, what, how, when- Global, regional and individual Country's impact
From this topic I had understand that sustainable development goals are simply blueprint
for accomplishing better as well as more sustainable future for everyone. Within this all global
challenges are included which we are facing such as inequality, poverty, climate, environmental
degradation, prosperity, justice and peace (Bule and Less, 2016). Furthermore, these all goals are
interrelated with each other and they don't leave anyone behind. Along with this, it has been
understand by me that agenda of sustainable development involves 17 (SDGs) goals.
Explanation of these goals on the basis of global, regional and individual country impact are as
follows :-
 Goal 1: No poverty – Major and foremost goal of SDG is to remove poverty as it result
in disability of individual. Because poverty give directly impact on individual through
malnutrition, poor healthcare as well as dangerous living condition (Carley and Christie,
2017). If any country have high poverty ratio then it will directly impact on their
economic growth as well as create negative image at global level. Thus, with the
assistance of this it has been understand by me that biggest issue behind disability is
poverty within several nations.
 Goal 2: Zero Hunger - Within this goal there is requirement of rethink how we will
consume food, grow, share and so on. According to the data of 2017, it has been
identified by me that approx. 821 million people were undernourished. Along with this,
major of hunger population are found within country who are developing where 12.9% of
population is undernourished. 149 million children under 5 years of age—22 per cent of
the global under-5 population—were still chronically undernourished in 2018. To come

out with this it has been targeted by 2030 their should be zero hunger as well as ensure
that food will be expressible for everyone. Because it will result in zero hunger only
along with this major step people have to take is avoiding throwing away food and give it
to people who are in need.
 Goal 3: Good health and well-being – From this goal it has been understand by me that
for sustainable development healthy lives have to be ensure at every age. When their will
be no poverty and zero hunger, good health and well being will automatically gain (Diaz-
Sarachaga, Jato-Espino and Castro-Fresno, 2017). . As per the data of 2017 it has been
identified by that there are several people who are suffering from diseases such as 36.9
million population at global level were living with HIV. Along with this, 21.7 million
people were accessing antiretroviral therapy within same year. Globally, teenaged girls
as well as young women are going through inequality on the basis of gender, exclusion,
violence, discrimination. All this result in putting them within increasing risk of HIV.
 Goal 4: Quality Education – For removing poverty there is requirement of education
which help in gaining job opportunities for people. Thus, it has been analysed by me that
obtaining quality education is foundation for enhancing lives of people & sustainable
development.
 Goal 5: Gender equality – It is human right of every individual person as well as it is
essential or foundation of peaceful, sustainable and prosperous world (Ghanbari,
Pettersson and Saxen, 2015). Along with this gender equality result in growth of
economy and women's living within society.
 Goal 6: Clean water and Sanitation - It is a necessary part at worldwide level where
individual want to live as well there is much water on planet as per requirement for
achieving better lives. However, because of terrible economics or improper
infrastructure, numerous human being are getting die including children also every year
due to health issues which are because of inappropriate water supply, hygiene and
sanitation.
 Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy - Energy is central to nearly every major
challenge as well as opportunity facing by the world in present. Be it for jobs, security,
climate change, food production or enhancing incomes, access to energy for all is

essential. It is essential to do work towards predetermined goals and these are crucial
because they are linked with other goals related to Sustainable Development.
 Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth – Sustainable economic growth will needed
societies for creating the condition which allows individual to have quality job
(Klingebiel and Paulo, 2015).
 Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure – For investment in substructure
transport, irrigation, energy and information as well as communication technology – are
essential for accomplishing sustainable development and empowering communities in
numerous nation.
 Goal 10: Reduced Inequality – For positive surrounding and providing equal
opportunities to individual there is requirement of reducing inequality level as well as
have to provide equal rights to everyone.
 Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities – For better future there is requirement of
sustainable cities as well as communities which provide opportunities for everyone. By
accessing basic services, transportation, housing, energy and many more.
 Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and production - Responsible production and
consumption simply mean doing more as well as with less (Lu and et.al., 2015). Along
with this for growth of economy and sustainable development need what we can reduce
urgently by what we are producing, consuming and resources. Thus, it is essential to do
production and its consumption within proper manner because large share of our global
population is still lacking behind in meeting their basic requirement. Because at retailer
and consumer level wastage of goods done at wide level so it is important to do
production as well as consumption according to requirement. For example, 1.3 billion
Tonnes food is wasting by people on yearly basis while approx. 2 billion of population
remain hungry as well as undernourished. Furthermore, at worldwide level 2 billion of
population are overweight or obese. Thus, according to me it is important to do
production at responsible level as per the requirement and consume at needed level.
 Goal 13: Climate Action – Climate change is the term which affecting every nation as
well it have direct negative impact on nature, animals, human beings and so on (Nica,
2015). Weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, weather events are becoming
more extreme and greenhouse gas emissions are now at their highest levels in history.

 Goal 14: Life Below water - For sustainable future it is important to carefully manage
life which are below water because these are essential global resources.
 Goal 15: Life on land – It is related to sustainable forest which cover 30.7 percent of
Earth surface. This includes sustainable forest management, halt biodiversity loss, halt
and reverse land degradation as well as combat desertification.
 Goal 16: Peace and Justice strong institution – As per this goal it has been analysed by
me that justice have to be for everyone and it should not discriminate on the basis of
poor, rich, cast and so on. Along with this such institutions have to be develop which
result in peace and work for justice within particular nation.
 Goal 17: Partnership to accomplish the goal – There is requirement of partnership
within government, private sector as well as civil society for successful sustainable
development (Opp, 2016). Such partnership are mainly build upon shared vision, value,
goals which locate human being as well as the planet within middle, are required at the
worldwide, regional, national as well as local level. As per the data of 2017, Official
improvement aid stood at $146.6 billion. As well as this represents a declining of 0.6 per
cent in real terms over 2016. Target for this in term of finance is to strengthen mobility of
domestic resources which involve international support for developing nation for
enhancing domestic capacity for tax as well as other revenue collection. Apart from this
intern of system issues there is requirement of global macroeconomic stability which
involve policy coordination and policy coherence.
3 Pillars of sustainable development and the Triple Bottom Line
From overall explanation of sustainability it has been analysed by me that meaning to it is
different. In term of corporate sustainability is presented as an integration of economic, social as
well as environmental factors. In simple term, these pillars are informally related with people,
profit as well as plants. Along with this, it has been analysed by me that corporate sustainability
is one of the major rising interest within capitalist which are not seeking economic gain but also
social good (The three pillars of sustainability, 2019). Explanation of these 3 pillars are mention
below :-
 PLANET: The environmental pillar – If has been seen by me that environment pillars
now a days getting more attention as organisation are focusing on reducing water

wastage, packaging wastage, carbon footprints and many more. By doing such practices
there is beneficial impact on planet as well as also financial advantages for company.
According to may views if natural resources will not utilise by company in excess
amount then these will save for future. Along with this, wastage will get reduce then it
result in decreasing extra production cost.
 PEOPLE: The Social pillar – In relation of sustainability social aspects are those which
focus on balancing needs of individual with group. Every corporation perform their
social responsibilities various manner as well as some other successful corporation
sustainability programs are interrelated with mission of business. It has been identified by
me that organisation performing social responsibilities for people result In development
of social pillar within particular economy.
 PROFIT: The Economic pillar – Economic sustainability is that when an organisation
feel that they are on firm ground (Samans, 2016). It has been identified by me that for
being sustainable an business have to be profitable. Along with this, it has been said that
this profit pillar of sustainable development is not able to trump other two. Economic
pillar is not totally about profit which earned by an organisation as well as there are
factors which included within respective pillar such as risk management, proper
governance and compliance. Thus, it has been identified by me that an organisation who
generate profit result in development of economic pillar.
Triple Bottom Line – It is a framework which recommend that an organisation commit
for focusing toward social as well as environment concern. People + planet = Social +
Environmental responsibility
As per the respective theory, organisation have to work at the same time on these triple
bottom line i.e., profit, people and the planet. Explanation of these are as follows :-
 Profit – From this word it has been understood by me that profit is related to corporate
and it will analyse through profit and loss account preparation.
 People – This factor help in measuring how much social responsibilities has perform for
welfare of people.
 The planet – According to this factor of theory it has been identified by me that how an
organisation perform their activities in environment friendly manner.

Butler's Sequence explained and interpreted
This theoretical framework was introduced by Prof. Richard W. Butler's in 1980 and it
conduct discussion related to carrying capacity as well as sustainability. According to view point
of author tourism attraction are fragile and have to be manage in careful manner (Butler Model to
Tourism, 2019). Thus, they are not allowed for exceeding capacity limit because on one want to
stay in the places which are over crowed as well as over-commercialised (Wu and et.al., 2015).
There are six stages of respective framework explanation of these are as follows :-
The exploration stage -
 Few number of visitors
 Not any type of secondary tourism attraction as primary type of attraction will be allowed
that i.e., natural or cultural.
 Tourism has not any type of economic and social importance to local residence.
The involvement stage -
 Involvement of local residents within tourism
 tourism season have to be developed
 Emergence of secondary tourism facilities like providing guest house to tourist.
The development stage -
 Within this stage, visitors number are high which exceed local population.
 Attraction related to natural and cultural develop as well as marketed.
 At development stage local people may go through some physical chnages that are not
approve of.
The consolidation stage -
 Growth of tourism will be slow within this stage but not exceed limit of local populations
as well as area economy is tied to tourism.
 Along with this, within this stage marketing and advertising will be wide reaching for
attraction tourism again.
The stagnation stage -
 Number of visitors reach at their peak in stagnation stage.
 Now artificial tourism attraction will supersede original primary attraction.
 Carrying capacity of particular location will reach up-to its high or may exceed.
Decline or rejuvenation -

 Within this stage there is requirement of completed change within tourism attraction.
 Particular location become slum as well as drop out of tourism market completely.
Responsible production and consumption

Sustainable tourism
The concept of sustainable tourism revolves around taking into account economic, social
and environment factors. The concept of sustainable tourism encourages the optimal use of
ecological resources and promoting the natural inheritance and bio-diversity. It also takes into
consideration the socio-cultural aspects of the community as well and assures that values and
belief of citizens are promoted on an international level. I believe that this is a much needed
initiative which has been launched and promoted by the government. This approach ensures that
large section of tourists are encouraged to visit the country and able to achieve a distinct overall
experience.
Global sustainable tourism councils (GSTC)
Global sustainable tourism council is an non-profit organisation which setting unique
global standards as well as explain sustainability within travel and tourism. GSTC serve as an
international body which promoting adoption of universal sustainable tourism principles as well
as enhancing demand for sustainable travel. All this will gain through execution of diverse
program such as destinations, market access, accreditation, international standard setting and
many more (GSTC - GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE TOURISM COUNCIL, 2019). Criteria of The

Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s (GSTC) are simply efforts for understanding of common
sustainable tourism. These are organised within four main themes which are mention below:-
1. Sustainable management
2. Social and economic
3. Cultural
4. Environmental
