INTRODUCTION
Gibbs Reflective Model is the self-reflection management
tool which helps the individuals to think systematically about
the different experiences which the individuals have
undergone (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin, 2020). Gibbs
model consists of six stages which are mentioned as -
description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, and
action plan.
The project will be explaining about the topic we have chosen as a group which is Child poverty
in Manchester in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 - No Poverty. It will
be analysed and based on the experiences and feelings
that was going through whilst completing this project.
The project will be carried out by myself and another
four of my peers who are also studying the health and
social care from the Leeds Trinity University,
Manchester campus. The project will take place in
Manchester, United Kingdom. The main key duties
and responsibilities which I addressed were – organizing and motivating the other team
members, analysing the project needs and requirements, monitoring progress. Therefore, it is
very important to have effective communication skills to carry out a group project.
MAIN BODY
To what extent did the programme/module help ready me for the project?
The programme will help in creating value for the project which will help in analysing that how
effectively the project is being concerned and is addressed for successfully achieving the results
at a large scale. This module/programme will help in providing positive and health and social
care study (Prost, Chizallet and et.al., 2019). The health and social care study will help us create
value for new learning and development in the study at large scale. This programme will also
help the students in providing and gaining knowledge of how this programme is developing
importance for us to know and gain understanding of the project which has been undertaken.

This programme will also help in analysing the criteria of how effectively the project is being
analysed and is framed.
The key lessons learned in these sessions are:
I have gained an understanding on how to work collaboratively within a team, I have also
learned that I was able to communicate effectively with the group by communicating the
messages and working effectively towards the project. Receiving the appraisal from my lecturer
has also been benefitting me and this has been creating value of how my project was done.
I have also learned that there were some skills and abilities which I had improved while learning
how the projects are being done.
These were some of the key lessons which I have learned, and this helped in addressing how the
projects are made. I have been able to frame the requirements which helped me in analysing the
concepts of what I have learned in sessions which were being conducted.
Feelings about upcoming project by the end of the programme
I felt very satisfied when I was along with the other members in the team working in this project.
This helped me and my team in analysing how effectively and in appropriately manner, I was
able to complete the project which was based on overcoming child poverty in Manchester in line
with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 - No Poverty (Becker, 2019). I am feeling
very satisfied and motivated as I am able to create value for my work and was able to gain some
specific skills and attributes at larger scale. I was able to help in analysing and creating value for
which I was able to gain knowledge and understanding for the project in an appropriate manner
effectively.
Skills primarily seeking to develop and why:
The skills which I was primarily seeking was analysing that how effectively I was able to create
value for the project which was being undertaken. The skills I need to develop are – good
communication skills, effective presentation skills, working collaboratively with the team
members etc. These are some of the skills which are to be developed as it will help me in my
project to perform well and this will also create value for addressing and attributing to the
positive work which I will be performing in the future projects which will be explained. With the

helps in these skills, I will be able to analyse and understand that there is requirement of how
effectively the project is to be considered and taken into importance.
Challenges faced whilst on project and what were the feelings:
The challenges which are being faced on the project were -
Inadequate risk management which was being analysed on the project. Lack of clear goals which
were required in the project being undertaken. There was also poor planning which became the
major challenge for me as there was lot of confusion which was being analysed while I was
performing the project based on how to overcome child poverty in Manchester in line with
United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 - No Poverty (Akbar, Shameem and et.al.,
2018).
These were major challenges which I had faced during the project. I also felt that it is very
important for me to learn some major skills and abilities so that I can deliver positive value while
working on some other projects as well.
How were the challenges overcome, and still working to overcome them?
The challenges were being overcome by framing such positive strategies so that I can create
value for the projects which are being put into my future career as I am studying health and
social care. I am trying to create value for improving my skills and abilities so that I can
overcome my challenges which I am facing. I have still been working on my challenges so that
there is also improvement in my work in the further projects which I will be undergoing in my
further projects at large scale. By overcoming the challenges, I will be able to create value and
will help in analysing the positive outcomes which I will be gaining through my project.
Most fulfilling part of the experience, what went well and what could have been done differently:
The most fulfilling experience which I have gained through this project is that I got the
opportunity to work with the team and collaborated with them while performing this project
which has been undertaken on child poverty in Manchester in line with United Nations
Sustainable Development Goal 1 - No Poverty (Peters, Calvo and Ryan, 2018). The most
fulfilling part of the experience was that I was able to create value for the project which was
done in collaboration with the other team members. This helped me gaining an insight of how
Document Page
the projects are done. There were certain aspects of how the project could have been undergone
differently. There could have been some more time given for the project to be completed etc.
The experiences on strengths and weaknesses and opportunities for development:
The experiences suggest that I should have been focused more on my skills and abilities which
helps in accomplishing the given project in appropriate manner. The strengths which I incur are
based on how effectively I am able to create value by communicating effectively in an
appropriate manner. The weakness which I need to improve are based on my inability to perform
and have some skills such as having technical skills. There are also some opportunities which
will help me in my project so that I am able to analyse and help my other team members to
complete the project effectively. There are opportunities for me to learn some of the skills which
are related to interpersonally imbibing the skills appropriately.
What can be done differently as a result of that experience and reflection on it
The project can be done in a different manner which helps in indicating that the project can
be done in the manner as to how effectively and in appropriate manner there can be concerns of
how some skills and abilities can be managed effectively and appropriately. The project can be
done in a different manner by ensuring that how effectively some major skills such as gaining
knowledge of the theoretical aspects at large scale (Orishev and Burkhonov, 2021). I have
experienced that how the projects are done with the providence of all information and data at
large scale. I have also analysed that how effectively some projects are undertaken and how they
help in initialising the concerns as to how the project on child poverty in Manchester in line with
United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 - No Poverty was undertaken.
What actions reflections lead to also identify the skills and knowledge gaps and how they are
developed and achieved
The actions through the reflection have led to analyse and identify the aspects of how effectively
the project was being undertaken and addressed. My action regarding the project was positive
and this helped in creating value as to how there are concerns as to how effectively I was able to
analyse and acknowledge the project effectively (Chang, 2019). My skills and knowledge gaps
were identified as – communication skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills. These

skills were developed and achieved in the manner by framing proper strategies which helped in
creating value at large scale. The skills were developed by framing the strategies which helped in
analysing the aspects of positive skills and attitudes to be achieved.
