REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
Reflective Journal: Group Work and Presentation Success_1

A Reflective journal is being framed out as an instrument that supports an individual to make a
replication, thus allowing you to take a profound attitude regarding development and learning
(Bassot, 2016). Reflection aids in processing my views and provide sense to them, by which I
can have confidence in myself during tough situations so as to regulate and appreciate difference
among my visualization and practice. This reflective journal will show several methods of
thinking in an analytical and critical manner regarding my work. It will show how distinct work
aspects will interconnect during our poster presentation and how a group working will eventually
help in achieving aim with the particles of excellence and diligence. Particularly our work in a
presentation gets connected with few things which may be like:

It is very challenging to make proper working in a group. However, learning to work in a proper
manner with other people is very significant for an individual in gaining understanding. One of
the most important thing which is done by a group of 4 people is that we worked together even
after so many issues, fights, and disputes. At first, we decided to make a selection for a topic for
which we met in a lecture hall and make discussions on distinct themes regarding poster
demonstration and finally landed up with the topic on which the majority of people agreed. After
that volunteer is displayed and four different works get assigned to them: content, the

intersection of art and themes, narration and presentation. At the time of work distribution, there
were several issues and I reacted in some negative and uncertain way. As per the “Psych
evolutionary theory” of Plutchik and Kellerman, 2013, emotions are considered as the compound
cable of proceedings with soothing loops that incline to produce some sort of behavioral
reaction. Due to such reaction of mine, my other teammates also reacted in a manner which is
not acceptable but somehow issue gets resolved as we have to work for achieving victory in the
presentation. All such issues arise due to the factor called stress, which makes an impact on the
well-being of a person and disturbs the overall concentration (Noyan and Cohen, 2013). Despite
the entire group issues from the staring and my disablement in stress control case, the whole
procedure of presentation converted in a positive node where each member of the group
survived, make proper involvement and reflect high team spirit. The “Emotion focused coping
theory” also supported me in reducing tension level at the situations which cannot be controlled
(Gottlieb, 2013).
After all the hassles, our work is again on track and we instantly started collecting major
information regarding poster making. My main role is in the terms of finisher which means to
make my team free from omissions and mistakes for which there is need of good
communication. For an excellent communication, we decided to meet on a fixed place every day
so as to make necessary discussions. My most important contribution to our team is my opinion
in launching our project with collaboration and to make sure that there is equal participation of
entire group in creating a presentation.
After setting out everything, presentation day comes where it is accepted that everything will end
up in effective and efficient manner but several doubts were also there in regards with the results
as various issues arise among team members. Somehow I gain confidence and started giving a
presentation of the poster in front of an audience. At first, I was not able to deliver it in a suitable
manner as I forget things which I practiced, but when I realize that audience is taking interest
then I automatically was on track again and carried on my work. I was also able to cope up with
my stress level and was ultimately successful in achieving goals.
From the above reflection, it can be concluded that patience and relief from the stress factors are
the two main factors which are required to handle a tough situation. This presentation helps me
