Introduction
The personal skills plays an essential role in the growth and development of an individual, it
is the ability of an individual which allows him to perform well in any activity considered to be
his strength. The strong personal skills of an individual helps him to be successful in any job and
leads him towards future career development, there are number of personal skills which can be
enhanced by an individual. It is also analysed that effective development of the personal skills
will help individual in the organisational growth, he also able to manage his professional work
more smoothly and effectively. This report is mainly based on the self reflection of an individual
various action plan taken into consideration such as career and progression plan, detailed skill
audit also self appraisal and action planning is also highlighted in this report. in addition to this
principles of organisational theories against organisational practices is also highlighted in this
report.
Main body
While working as a carpenter at FDL company for the last seven year I have analysed for the
better growth and success in the organisation there are number of skills that I needed to improve
and develop effectively. I consider myself to be hardworking and a flexible individual, i have
also analysed that I can easily work in a team and can effectively coordinate with the team
members which is very essential for achieving desired goals and objectives and offering better
results a team. Being working as an carpenter from the last seven years I have great business
skills which enables me to understand the business activities and timely carry out my business
effectively and smoothly along with this I also have great practical skills which helps to easily
carry out my task and also analyse and evaluate the situation. In addition to this I also have
effective time management skills which is one of the most essential skill required to effectively
carry out the work on time and also divide the task as per the priority basis. The effective time
management skills allows me to be organised person completing task or activities on time, for a
carpenter doing work on time is very essential for the future growth and be successful in the
profession. I also have skills of NVQ level 2 which I have developed in order to effectively work
in the retail sector, this is one of the essential skills required for the purpose of employment and
essential career progression in any retail as a position of sales profession. I have gained this skill
in order to effectively work in the retail sector and be successful in the future career progression.
