Reflective practices are used for carrying out self-analysis for evaluating and
understanding the self-experience. It supports the learner for thinking deeply on actions and
activities that are performed by them. Present report describes about the theory of learning cycle
and experimental learnings. In addition to this, purpose of reflecting on the self-work has also
been done. Moreover, process and methods of reflections and range of different ways of learning
from work practices have been explained.
TASK 1
Theory of learning offer a method for understanding different basic cognitive process of
individuals. Kolb's model is an innovative approach that is used for reflecting on self work. In
the cycle basis is provided for reflections and observations as well as these are further distilled
into abstract concepts which are utilised for producing new implications (Dorji, Panjaburee and
Srisawasdi, 2015). Kolb's model of learning works on two levels and it is a four-stage cycle that
comprises of Concrete Experiences (CE), Reflective Observations (RO), Abstract
Conceptualization (AC) and Active Experimentations (AE). This stage can be used for reflecting
own experiences and with this, more growth can be gained by the learner. Kolb's model offers
ways for understanding the individuals learning cycle and it is also an explanation of cycle of
experimental learning that applies to all individuals involved in the process of acquiring
knowledge (Dorji, Panjaburee and Srisawasdi, 2015).

and experiences in which learner is involved. Meaningful insight is provided under the same and
weak performing areas are identified. It supports in making more improvements in personal
understanding and enhancing existing the skills and capabilities. Personal growth and self-

of individuals can be informed. It is a process which is used for assessing our self-thoughts and
actions so that personal development and learning could be ensured. David Kolb's learning style
defines about four distinct learning methods (Erhardt and et.al, 2016).

WEEK 1
Description
I was sitting in the playground and saw some children fighting with each other. I tried to
resolve their issues and to stop the fight.
Feelings
I felt shocked as children were fighting with each other and it could have been a big
conflict issue.
Evaluation
There are both; negative and positive sides about the experience where the bad one was
that was little children were fighting with each other. Positive side about this experience was that
children got calm and stopped fighting after my interventions.
Analysis
I was initially shocked when I saw little children having conflict in the ground. However,
I tried a lot for resolving the issues in between children. My communication skills were good and
it helped me in making effective interaction with them. I identified major cause of grievances
faced by children and tried to convince them for not fighting with each other.
Conclusion

I was supporting students in a year 12 maths class. I saw a girl finding difficulty in
understanding the concepts taught in classroom. All the other students in class were paying
attention towards information provided by me. However, the girl was not feeling comfortable in
sharing the queries with me. After class got over, I made interaction with her and explained him
all the mathematical concepts.
Feelings
I was thinking about the way to involve the girl student in the class. I felt the need for
helping the child so that she can understand the concepts.
Evaluation
The bad thing about the situation was that I have not taken initiative for involving the girl
in the interaction made in the class. The good thing about the situation was that I helped her
outside the class and resolved all the queries faced by her.
