This study investigates if Private Gross Fixed Capital Formation is an appropriate predictor of the Australian GDP. Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics from 1986 to 2018 is analyzed using graphical and statistical techniques. The results show a strong positive correlation between Private Gross Fixed Capital Formation and GDP, with at least 76% of the changes in GDP explained by changes in Private Gross Fixed Capital Formation. The hypothesis test confirms the significance of the relationship.
