INTRODUCTION
Every individual prefers to work in a flourishing environment which is free from all sort
of disease, harm and danger. Health and Safety is an integral part of human resource
management and development of an organization. The current research report is conducted in
similar context of North Staffordshire trust which provides medical assistance to the service
users. It aims to introduce new policies and laws in the health care premises which complies by
the legal and legislation laws of the country. Main purpose of the current study is to enlighten the
readers with varied laws and regulations that are necessary to be adopted by the firm (Carayon,
2016). The research present several policies, systems and procedures that the North Staffordshire
trust is trying to implement in order to prevent accidents and injuries. It also illustrates
responsibilities of the varied care and general practitioners, nurses, doctors and director of the
hospital. It also covers varied aspects of risk assessment and impact of manual handling on the
service users as well as providers of services. In the end, an analysis is being made on the health
and safety policies adopted at South Birmingham Primary Care Trust.

Health and Safety at workplace is an essential subject which provides an understanding
of how to maintain and provide a safe environment to all the internal as well as external
stakeholders of the organization. The present research revolves around the health and safety at
North Staffordshire trust. The hospital is unable to maintain and comply by the legislation of the
said country (Drummond and et.al., 2015). Therefore, it has currently reported several accidents,
injuries, dangerous disease. In order to prevent the enlisted loopholes, the director of the said
health facility communicates varied new policies and procedures to its care practitioners which
includes nurses, doctors, physiotherapist, etc. Some of the systems incorporated by the firm have
been enlisted hereunder:
All the basic policies regarding health and Safety act shall be demonstrated to all the
service users in the meeting and at times of induction (Excellence, 2013).

A committee board is also been setup so as to assure that all the working equipments at
the trust are in align with the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulation Act
1992. Moreover, they are entitled to undertake several activities and decisions to protect
the interest of its service users.
Instructions are being printed and pasted at different corners of the hospital so as to
enlighten the general practitioners and patients about the relative danger at current place
or to maintain silence where necessary such as beside the ICU sectors. This will assist the
company in maintaining and complying by the laws of Control Noise at Work Regulation
Act 2005 (Grol and et.al., 2013). The directors also aims to introduce and comply by The Factories Act 1961 which
advises to make precautionary actions to promote safety at the hospital (Magill and et.al.,
2014). In addition to it lift operations and lifting equipments is also successfully
introduced in the building. This can be easily communicated by printing instructions in
the lifts or by appointing a lift operator so as to ensure that it is used properly by the
people.
Communication method in H & S- Essential information regarding the health and safety is
communicated via the means of direct mail, newsletters and notice boards. Agenda meetings can
also be held to communicate the policies.
Training methods in H& S- The line managers of the firm are responsible for the delivery of
necessary training programmes such as use of fire equipments and essential tools at workplace. It
can also provide emergency exists, fire alarms and extinguishers at various corners of the
medical industry.

Responsibilities are a set of duties and roles that are need to be performed by each
individual at the health care setting so as to accomplish their obligations. Every person in the
medical industry is responsible to undertake the reasonable care and safety precautions so as to
protect the interest of the service users of health care facility. These roles and responsibilities
need to be effectively communicated and to all the respective persons. The organizational
structure of current health and social care centre has been demonstrated hereunder along with
their relative duties to demonstrate the instructions to patients and care practitioners:
