INTRODUCTION
Electromagnetic breaking system is designed to either slow down or
stop the motion through the application of electromagnetic force in the
presence of mechanical resistance.
Electromagnetic breaking system operates under the principles of
electromagnetic force which involves the physical interaction that
occurs between components or particles that are charged electrically.
The major advantage of the implementation of plug-in hybrid electric
vehicle using electromagnetic break is that its frictionless and hence
reduces wear and also stepping of the break permits the operator to
command the stopping force which initiates the motion of he car.

Operation of Electromagnetic Breaking System
The electromagnetic brakes in the hybrid electric vehicle begins its
operation when a magnetic flux is passed in a direction perpendicular
to the direction the wheel is rotating
An eddy current is observed flowing in an opposite direction to which
the wheel is rotating.
This will result in the formation of an opposing force to the rotation of
the wheel hence slowing down the speed of rotation of the wheel.
The developing of electromagnetic fields takes place at any DC voltage
and in many instances, the torque formed by brake will be similar as
long as suitable voltage and current is used in the right brake.
Brake torque can only accurate and sufficient when there is constant
power supply.

CONCLUSION
In this report, the proposed breaking system for plug-in hybrid electric
vehicles is the electromagnetic breaking system which is designed to
either slow down or stop motion through the application of
electromagnetic force in the presence of mechanical resistance.
This proposed electromagnetic breaking system is expected to replace
the traditional frictional force breaking system since this conventional
breaking systems is characterize by bulkiness and low power to weight
ration.
The recommended type of vehicles that the electromagnetic breaking
system is expected to be used in is the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle
since it is more durable and also low friction is experienced.
