INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is a basic and ongoing process which involves
skill enhancement and upliftment of individuals capabilities and power. The personal and
professional development phenomena is concerned with individual and organisational
development both (Katz and et. al., 2020). The present work is based on such practices as well
which involves evaluation of small, medium and long term goals of individuals and the tools
they uses for making these improvements. One most common and effectual tool is a Professional
Development plan which is a document that is build as a blueprint and directs them in right path.
Moreover, the report also conducts a thorough evaluation of the resources used by considering
over their Authors, Purposes, Reliability and Relevance (Yielder and Moir, 2016).
TASK 1
1. Define the concept of personal and professional development.
The concept of personal and professional development is a continuous and ongoing
phenomena which is related with engaging in activities which are beneficial for individuals for
uplifting their skill sets and diversifying their learnings (Grit, 2019). The personal and
professional development is a systematic approach which an individual adopt for making
rigorous and necessary changes in themselves. A plan known as PDP (Professional Development
Plan) is used for guidance and allocation of exact practices which are helpful for them to move
forward in their careers. A PDP is attached in the appendix at the end of the report (Rubens and
et. al., 2018).
2. Describe and discuss the value of short-term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples.
The short term goals are those which are easily attainable and are more concentrated on
the day to day efficiency and development of a person in their professional context. These aims
are also known or determines as small milestones in the journey or path of better career (Bowen,
2018). Some of the examples goals which normally individuals have as their short period aims to
achieve are as follows: Communication Skills Work Life Balance
