Background to the study
In March 2020, WHO declared COVID-19 as an outbreak which affected policies of
several countries. Moreover, for dealing with pandemic prominently several measures have
been taken by different countries. In order to control the effect of this situation lockdown
was announced by the countries (Safety of COVID-19 Vaccines, 2021). Meanwhile,
business operations and activities of countries including UK are affected adversely. Due to
health and safety concern companies of travel & tourism sector, aviation, hotel etc, faced
situation of loss. For offering safe accommodation services to the customer’s hotel units
have made changes in the existing framework The current report is based on Nandos which
offers hospitality services to the customers. This report will present how operations and
strategies of Nandos have affected due to COVID-19.
Aims
To ascertain the impact of COVID-19 on the operations and strategies of firm operating
within UK hospitality sector: A study on Nandos
Objectives
To develop understanding about the concept of change management
To identify challenges facing by Nandos in relation to managing change.
To investigate the extent to which COVID affected business operations of Nandos.
To recommend strategies to Nandos for managing change effectually.
Research questions
This research will aim to answer the following questions;
What is the concept and models of change management?
Which challenges Nandos facing due to COVID-19?What is the effect of COVID
on Nandos’s operations?

Methodology – rationale, data selection and collection, recruitment,

Research methodology
Research type:
In order to evaluate problem and presenting suitable outcome from the issue being
investigated qualitative research will be done. Moreover. qualitative research focuses on
presenting underlying facts and opinions associated with issue.
Research approach:
There are mainly two approaches such as inductive and deductive which scholar can
employ for identifying technique pertaining to data gathering analysis. In this, inductive
approach will be used by the researcher for meeting research aim and objectives.
Research philosophy
Interpretvism philosophy will be used for assessing the challenges faced by HR
manager with regards to workforce management. Hence, by interpreting such qualitative
aspects appropriate results of concerned issue will be presented.
Data collection
For addressing problem data will be gathered from both primary and secondary
sources. Primary method includes survey which will be conducted on 10 managers of
Nandos by using questionnaire. Further, scholarly articles pertaining to operational change
management will be evaluated for secondary data gathering.
Research sampling
For survey, 10 managers of Nandos have been selected through using purposive sampling
technique.
Data analysis
On the basis of qualitative investigation type thematic perception test technique will be
employed by the researcher. As per this, themes will be prepared by taking into account
responses gathered through survey. Further, for developing better understanding about
results graphs will be included.
Ethical considerations
Researcher will take permission from Argos HR manager with the help of consent form
for complying with ethical aspects.
Reliability and validity
For dealing with this, focus will be placed on gathering up-to-date information
considering latest articles available on authentic sites. Further, researcher will present fair
view of data set without doing any modifications on the basis of personal biasness.
Research limitations
In research, cost and time are the main two factors which affect significance of study. Due
to having limited time and funds researcher did not use SPSS. In order to avoid this
limitation scholar will use qualitative technique which also helps in presenting wider view
of study.
