RESEARCH DILEMMAS 2
The central dilemmas that community care health providers face in planning research with
clinical populations are the research methodological dilemma and the role of a child in the
research dilemma.
Research Methodological Dilemmas (quantitative/ qualitative dilemma)
They generally include on the choice of the research method, either qualitative or quantitative or
a combined method (Barker & Pistrang, 2015). Research normally gets initiated by the need to
get solutions to problems facing the healthcare using different methodologies. The specific
authorities, as well as clinical care providers, initiate the research process.
Ethical Issues
It is a system of principles which can influence the above considerations concerning actions and
choice. It is the philosophical branch that deals with the dynamics of decision making on what is
right and what is wrong. Ethical issues in research involve the requirements needed in daily
work, dignity protection upon the subjects as well as the publication of the information contained
in the study. There are many examples of ethical considerations that considered when planning
on the methodology of the research. They include; ensuring no subjection of harm to the
participants whatsoever, obtaining full consent of the participants prior to the research, protection
of privacy among the participants of the study, ensuring confidentiality of research data. Further,
the anonymity of all research participants needs maintenance and many other considerations.
How to Handle the Ethical Issues

RESEARCH DILEMMAS 3
Firstly, ensuring that all respondents participate in research voluntary is significantly vital. It
provides that participants will give right information concerning the research prompts. However,
if a respondent decides to withdraw at any stage, they should be allowed to do so freely because
it's their right. Secondly, all respondents should be allowed to participate in the study by
informed consent. The researcher must ensure that they are informed before the research and are
allowed to choose whether to attend or not without any pressure or coercion. Thirdly,
maintenance of proper language should be adhered to and avoid using offensive, discriminatory
expressions. The privacy of the respondents should need a paramount treatment practice in the
study (Herlihy& Corey, 2014).
Handling of A Client Population With A Christian World View
All clients should be handled well based on their religion, and no one should be handed a referral
due to the religious aspects. It is unethical to avoid a population because it differs from your
values. Values remain and vary in a vast scope but taking sides' increases biasness and leads to
poor study. The ACA code of ethics articulates that it's unethical to refer conservative clients
because of differing in values. It also argues that counselors should not impose their values on
the clients.
Research Planning In Methodology
A research plan gives the researcher the chance to discuss the research proposal while identifying
why it's essential and its way of conduct. The methodology of research should be well researched
for, and it should consider the other parts of study such as the certification, justification for the
