Talent management is a chain of activities concerned with attracting, developing and
retaining employees to gain competitive advantage. It is one of the most useful terms for an
organisational commitment to recruit, hire and develop talented and superior personnel in job. It
is an kind of business strategy ensuring about attracting and retaining talent personnel in
comparison to other fierce competitors. This research report is based on Hotel Premier inn which
is a British chain of hotels and it is one of largest brand name in hotel industry. It has more than
72,000 rooms and 785 hotels. It operates in kinds of locations in city centres and airports to link
with Travelodge and IbIs hotels. This research is based on to find out requirement of talent
management to gain potential workforce to meet future requirements.
Background
Talent management is an approach for managing human capital throughout business. In
talent management consist of recruitment, selection and retention by considering potentiality of
high performance or qualities of leadership in an individual (Al Ariss, Cascio and Paauwe,
2014). It is a core part of human resource management to give competitive advantage to their
fierce competitors. This research is based on Hotel Premier Inn that is a well known British chain
of hotels and has large portfolio of products to remain always competitive in marketplace. That
organisation established by Whitbread in 1987 as a Travel inn with Travelodge. It is one of UK's
largest chain of hotels with 72000 rooms and large no. of hotels.
Research Problem
Research problem is an written statement or an area of concern in both theory or practice
that needs a thorough understanding to get meaningful results and investigation to reap out
important results behind problem or concern (Cappelli and Keller, 2014). Research problem is
very much important for reader to depict significance of topic being studied. To place problem in
a particular subject manner and design framework to get desirable outcomes to reap out
important results in proper way. In research some problems face by researcher that are lack in
sources such as books, print source to gather information and journals with problem of time and
fund is a general research problem. In that research the main problem that sometimes researcher

failed to find out adequate data and statistics to reach at desirable goals and objectives in proper

which is a brand name in hospitality industry to remain always competitive in marketplace they
have to apply talent management plan to reach at desirable outcomes in proper way.
