INTRODUCTION
Talent Management is defined as a constant process which includes attracting and
retaining high quality employees, continuously motivating them and developing their skills with
an objective to enhance their performance. In addition to this, the main purpose of talent
management is to develop a encourage staff members who will stay longer with the organization
(Ambrosius, 2018). It is also a process of analyzing vacant position, developing the skills and
expertise, recruiting the right person that match with the position and assist in attaining
objectives in a timely and effective manner. For the present research, Premier Inn is taken into
consideration. It is a British hotel chain and is the UK’s largest hotel brand. It was founded in
year 1987 and its head office is located in England, United Kingdom. The company has more
than 800 hotels globally which shows that hotel has high market presence and share as well. The
Main purpose of conducting this study is to examine the various strategies for retaining and
managing talent at workplace. Along with this, it also help researcher to gain insight about the
importance and role of talent management within an organization. It also assist investigator to
gain insight about the issues faced by respective organization while managing and retaining
talent at workplace. The present report is based on various task that involve research aim &
objectives, research methodology, literature review, data analysis & interpretation, reflection,
recommendation and many more. All these are important activities that will be advantageous for
investigator while completion of research in a proper manner.

study on Premier Inn”.
Research objectives
To analyse the role of talent management in an organisation. To identify the ways of retaining and managing talent at workplace of Premier Inn.

To determine the issues faced by Premier Inn while retaining and managing talent in
organisation.
Research Questions: What is the role of talent management in an organisation? What are the ways of retaining and managing talent at workplace of Premier Inn? What are the issues faced by Premier Inn while retaining and managing talent in
organisation?
Rationale of study
The main objective for performing this research is to determine and gaining
understanding about the concept of talent management and the strategies that is used by
companies in order to retain an manage talent management at workplace. At personal level, it
help researcher to enhance it’s data analysis skills, literature review skills, time management
skills, communication skills, interpretation skill and many more. All these are important as it
support an individual to attain positive and better outputs. In addition to this, this investigation is
also significant at an educational level through improving knowledge of students about talent
management.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Role of talent management in an organization
As per the view point of Brianna whiting, (2019), talent management is a procedure of
analyzing, training, developing, retaining and maintaining workforce to attain objectives of the
company. In addition to this, It is the full range of human resource procedure to pull, keep an
motivate high performing workers. It is determined that Talent management plays an important
role within an organization as it motivates staff members to achieve goals in an appropriate
manner. It is also analyze that talent management drive innovation within the workplace that
leads to attainment of competitive advantage at marketplace. Acquisition of talented and skilled
staff members help company to deal with customers and develop effective relation with them in
an appropriate way which in turn also creates a positive mindset towards brand an enhance brand
image of the organazation (Amiri and Safariolyaei, 2017). There are various benefits attained due
to talent management such as improve decision-making, achievement of vision and mission,
building of reputation, enhancement in performance and so on. It is stated that talent

management not only benefit to employers but it also give advantages to employees such as rise
up confidence, improving of personal skills, achievement of job satisfaction, long term
satisfaction and many more. It is important for an organization to focus on retaining and
managing talent in an effective manner as it help in increasing productivity as well as
performance level in an appropriate manner.
Ways of retaining and managing talent at workplace of Premier Inn
According to Robert Half, 2020, there are ample of ways are used by managers in order
to retain employees with company for longer run. For this, they are required to provide
appropriate motivation to employees so that they stay with company for longer run. There are
ample of ways by which a company can motivate employees that can be monetary and non
monetary. In addition, recognition and rewards also play a crucial role in motivating work force.
Managers are required to acknowledge the efforts and contribution of human resource within
organization. It is analysed that Human resource managers of Premier inn adopts ample of
techniques in order to retain employees for longer duration. For this, they first analyze the
requirement of employees and provide them benefits accordingly. Here, they emphasis to
maintain long term relationship with employees by having proper communication with them. It
also helps to maintain proper coordination at work place (Crane and Hartwell, 2019). Apart from
these approaches, managers also arrange necessary training and development program for
subordinates so that they can perform better at work place. With appropriate training and
development employees are able to undertake assigned task in an efficient manner. It enhances
their productivity and motivates them to work hard for organizational growth and success.
Managers of respective company also provide appropriate monetary benefits and incentives to
work force so that they get inspired and stay with company for longer duration. Here,
communication also plays a great role in managing better relationship between employees and
employer. It is monitored that administrative of respective entity emphasis over proper
communication. Therefore, organization is able to retain employees for longer duration.
Issues faced by Premier Inn while retaining and managing talent in organisation
According to Annette Franz, 2016, As per the current scenario, it is quite difficult for
company to retain and manage talent at work place. The main challenge that is faced by
managers of Premier Inn is to retain talented as well experienced employees with organization
