safety of the employees. The quality manager looks out matter that all the works are carried out with
accuracy and as per the prescribed standard of the business. Moreover, there is a finance director to look
out the funds and monetary transaction so that there is always availability of funds to the firm. Lastly
there is a contract director to look out all the contract company enter into and there is no lag in the
performance of the contract by both parties with the legal matter involved in the contractual agreement as
well.
TASK 2
Communication as centre of leadership and management
Communication for the leaders and the management can be defined as the information highway
for the leaders. This is way of connection and inspiration apart from transmission of the information.
Commination is critical for building up the alignment and creation of the executive summery. The
communication flows from both the direction in the organisation as from leaders to team members and
management and vice versa (Why communication is essential for great leader, 2018) . With effective
communication the leaders clarify the goals to the team mates and assign every person task and activity
as per his/her skill and professional knowledge and conduct. The managements and leaders are able to
express the meaning, goals and objective with conviction, can correlated the massage to goals, identify
action plan and gets a confirmation about the understanding among the peers and subordinates.
Yet this is the most difficult challenge faced by the leaders as well management of the
organisation as it is easy to say but not easy to do. In effective communication by them engagements and
the leaders can lead to conflict, hamper the work, decrease in the moral of the employees, ambiguous
goals and objectives of the organisation etc.
Examples of effective interdepartmental communication within an organisation
A restaurant has a goal of getting 100 consumes through the door per day. This needed to be
accomplished with all the staff working in the same direction with same level of enthusiasm, dedication
and professional conduct. This was crucial for the survival of the business due to increased competition
in the vicinity (Moak, K., 2017). But the manger did not state the goal to all the staff as the some of the
chef were not informed about the same. Moreover, no clear guideline and motivation was give to them,
leading in moral burst of employee and hence non achievement of the objective.
This states the fact that the message from leaders and manager must always convey both vision
and the organization's purpose and values. Too many people fail to fully appreciate, that the message is
not just what they say; how they say it is equally important. Communication is where leadership lives and
breathes.
TASK 3
Current drivers of globalisation and their impact on the businesses
Globalisation: This can be defined as an act of free movement of goods and services between
tow or more countries with lesser or no trade barriers to people across the world in seamless and
integrate manner (The Influences of Push and Pull Factors on the International Leisure Tourists, 2018).

This is a theory giving the comparative advantage stating that countries with good production capital of a
specific good have a better opportunity to export them to other countries that are less efficient at
producing them.
Drivers of globalisation: With internation trade and investment the economics of scale and cost
are reduces with appropriate and effective use of the resources. Along with trade and investment there
are the drivers as well and all them are defined beneath:
ď‚· International trade: In this there is exchange of capital, goods and services between the nations.
This is very essential for the acceleration of the economy, polity and society of the nation. With
international trade dramatic enhancement in the economic growth, expansion of the industries
and social behaviours can be seen. This is the biggest driver of globalisation. This effect
business as increase the operation of the organisation in the internation market with increment in
the profits, market share and gaining competitive advantages.
ď‚· International Investment: this is another factors that influence the business to jump in the
global business market. This is process of acquiring production facility or financial assets from a
foreign nation (What is Globalization ? - Meaning and its Importance, 2018). This directly effect
the business operation as with increased investment the organisation can expand its production,
market share, get technological advancements leading in growth and sustainability of the
company.
ď‚· Offshoring: This is process of producing of semi-finished parts at location where the labour and
wages cost is lower. The rough component are shipped back to home country here the finishing
of the product takes place (Baru, and Mohan, 2015). This is directly reduces the cost of
production of the business hence increases the profitability. This is general practise in the
organization in present time as this is a profitable process as huge cost and expenses related to
wages are cut down.
ď‚· Transportation: This process involve movement of goods and people from one pace to another
which is essential for globalisation. For increasing the volume of the goods and number of the
people that can be moved the process is constantly improvised touring it to be a driver of
globalisation. Effect directly can be state by example of chins as it has built a direct railway track
of 20000 km between Xi'an and Hamburg in 2015 in just 15 days to ship goods from china and
Germany at faster pace.
ď‚· Telecommunication: This is a process of transmission of signs, signals, messages, writings,
images, sounds and intelligence by wire, radio, optical or other electromagnetic systems. Quick
development in its technologies have been experienced in past two 2 decades for faster and
effective communication (Renko, M and et.al., 2015). This make it a driver of globalisation. With
effective and fast communication between nations allowed the companies to send quick
message and information related with trade, investments etc making the operation of business
fast and easy.

TASK 4
Comparing and contrasting two style of leadership, suitable type for global organisation with reason
Cross cultural leadership: This styles of leadership can be defined as the one which is being
practised more in the global business organisations. In this style the leader possess three main qualities
that is he/she is inclusive, respectful and versatile. The cross culture leader recognise the different norms
of business, leadership practices and cultural realities of the every country they are operating in (Leading
in the 21st century, 2018). This type of leader knows how to navigate these differences to unite culturally-
diverse partners, achieve unified goals, and create pathways to common ground. The cross-cultural
leader understands that diversity is a virtue and a resource rather than an obstacle.
Paternalistic leadership style: This can be defined as a managerial approach which involves a
dominant authority who acts as a patriarch or matriarch and treat the employees and partners as they the
member of a large and extended family. In return the leader expect loyalty and trust and obedience from
the employees (Perugini, Vecchi and Venturini, 2017). A successful paternalistic leader have a big picture
in his/her mind and considerer the fact that how every decision will affect the whole family. The benefit of
this style is that the employee work harder to complete the task within the stipulated time and achieve the
goals to please the leader and to honour the family which is the company.
Comparison and contradiction:
The similarities can be outline between both leadership styles mentioned above as that both are
generally practices in the global business organisation. Both of them focus on cultural and values of the
culture of other nation. As in the cross culture the leader respect and includes the cultural norms of the
country in the organisation policies. Similarly, in the paternalistic style the leader treat employees as
family which means he/she respects and consider the values, beliefs and ethical norms of the employee
of other nation. In both the styles the leaders make a relation with employee creating a sense of
responsibility among the employees.
The difference among both style can be stated as while the cross culture leader keeps the focus
on cultural norms and leadership practices the paternalistic leader consider all the facts to make the
employed feel home. The former leader consider the diversity and is versatile while the latter one does
not consider the hierarchical structure of the family specially in the time of crisis. Out of both the style the
cross cultural leadership style is more effective to be applied in global organisation is cross cultural
leadership (Holten, and Brenner, 2015). This is suggested as the leader while taking care of the cultural
norms and leadership traits take into account the hierarchical order as well is versatile so that it can
effectively meet the situation of crisis.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that the functional areas of AA WOODS HOLDINGS
LIMITED is different form other organisation. The hierarchy in the business have been identified as a
mixture of horizontal and vertical style of management. Further, is can be articulated that the leaders
