CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Research
Staff training can be described as the most essential part of each business organisation as
to developing performance and productivity if employees at work place. In today’s modern
world people are very much concern on consuming high quality products and services in respect
to satisfying their needs and wants. Small as well as large business organizations are concern on
providing satisfactory products and services in respect to attaining a higher position at market
place. ASDA is a chosen company for this particular research project and deals in high quality
food, cloths and electronic goods (Brewster and Hegewisch, 2017). The major focused area of
firm is to providing training session to their existing as well as new employees as to developing
their performance and working ability at work place. Training is essential for each employee as
to providing them proper induction function in respect to making familiar them with the
environment of firm.
Background of the Research
In this modern and competitive business era it is required for each business organisation
is to render effective training session as to developing the knowledge and working ability of
workers at work place. As a large business enterprise ASDA is concern on providing training to
their new and existing employees in respect to enhancing their performance at work place.
ASDA is a large retailer company and deals in variety of products and services. The major
focused area of firm is to gaining attention of large number of customers through the offered
goods and services of a particular firm.
Research Aim
This the primary and most important part of research. This consists to be a predetermined
statement which helps the researcher in moving forward towards right direction. The effective

aim of this particular research is “To ascertain the effectiveness of employees training and
development on organisational growth and success”. A case study on ASDA.
Research Objectives
This can be described as the most essential part of research project which helps in
clarifying the all variables of research in appropriate and effective manner (Pollock, Wick and
Jefferson, 2015). This part of research is based on the research aim and performs effective role
in carrying out the whole research in effective way. Some essential objectives of research are
