Title of the project:To analyse the importance of talent management in order to raise theproductivity and performance of employees in the Cairn hotel”.Chapter 1: IntroductionIntroduction of the research: Talent management refers to a process of identifying vacant job position, appointing bestand suitable candidate, develop capabilities, skills and knowledge in order to match the requiredposition and than retain them for a longer period of time for attaining organisational goals andobjectives effectively (Ashton and Morton, 2005). It is defined as a commitment of a company inorder to hire, recruit and develop best and capable candidates in the company. In addition to this,talent management involves all the work process which are associated with retaining potentialcandidates within the organisation. It will further aid the managers in order to attract capable andpotential employees so that they can attain their organisational goals and objectives effectively.In the present context of a hotel which is located in London named as Cairn, it is very essentialfor them to retain their talented staff members and attract new candidates to generate morerevenue. The present research is based on requirement of managing talent in their organisation sothat they can enhance the performance and productivity of their employees. Background of the project: Talent management is one of the important part for every organisation as it will aid themin retaining skilled and capable staff members within the organisation. In reference to CairnHotel, it is very essential for the management team of company to manage their talentedemployees in order to perform their functions in a smooth manner (Cappelli, 2009). The presentresearch is conducted so that the managers of hotel can understand and analyse the importanceand benefits of talent management. Statement of the research:Research statement of this project is that it affects the performance and productivity ofstaff members. This will be proved with the help of this research that whether staff members ofthe company are skilled and talented in order to attain the objectives within the given timeperiod.

Research Aim:The aim of this research is “To analyse the importance of talent management in order toraise the productivity and performance of employees in the Cairn hotel”. Objectives of the research: To examine the concept of talent management To analyse the need of talent management within Cairn HotelTo examine various methods used for talent management by the human resourcemanagementResearch Questions:What is the concept of talent management?What is the need and demand of talent management in Cairn Hotel?What are the various methods of talent management? Purpose and scope of the research: The main aim of this research is to identifying the significance of talent management inthe company. Therefore, it is very much effective and essential for each company as it gives lotsof benefits to employees and easily understand their demand as well as fulfilled their needs in aproper times (Collings and Mellahi, 2009). On the basis of this employees can get highermotivated and can increase their confidence in an appropriate manner. Rationale for the research topic:In the case of Cairn hotel which is located in London and some times this organisation isnot able to carry their consumers. This is because there are few issues which is totally faced bythis hotel, due to these reasons they are not able to give proper response to its customer's andeven not to provide better quality of services in hotel rooms. Therefore, this research will verymuch effective or helpful to define the talent management concept for making betterorganisation.

Gantt chart and Work breakdown structure:Gantt chart- A Gantt chart is 2-D graphical representation that shows relationshipsbetween activities and time consumed in a project. The horizontal axis shows estimated time ofwork to be completed while vertical axis describes list of activities which are required to befinished in set time duration. Thereafter width of bar shows start and end time which areconsumed by each task in single project (Deery, 2008). An assigned manager uses these chartswith respect to analyzing positions of work that are been allotted which have to be completed byteam member . A project could be short term as well long term oriented goals. For instance mostleaders uses Gantt chart for achieving long term goals like constructing highways roadsimplemented by government .
