Introduction
Background of project
Employees are the most crucial and vital resources of an orgnisation that plays an
important role in its success and better performance. Thus, a company must take better efforts to
effectively motivate and guide its employees to have improvement in their performance and
efficiency (Hur, Moon and Jun, 2016). Superdry plc is a clothing brand of UK that is offering
high quality products for its customers. Superdry plc was incorporated in 2003 and having its
main headquarter in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom which is providing a combined
vintage Americana styling clothes with Japanese inspired graphics. Superdry is having a
significant and growing presence around the world with 768 Superdry branded locations around
65 countries of world which comprises of many location in UK and Europe. In order to enhance
its performance and efficiency level Superdry needs to take some better steps towards heighten
motivation and satisfaction level of its employees in order to make them more committed and
loyal towards their work. Theretofore, current investigation is lead out to assess the impact of
employees motivation on improving their performance. Further, determination of better
strategies to enhance satisfaction and loyalty of customers is also included to achieve the desired
gaols of company (Christensen, Paarlberg and Perry, 2017).
Research rationale with justification
The selection of current research topic is rationale as it would lead to better understanding
about the relationship that exists between the motivation of employees and their performance
thus, it is quite justifiable from professional view point of researcher as yield better implication
about the importance of employees motivation. Apart from this, it also leads benefits for
organisation through assessing the impact of employees motivation on their performance so that
better strategies and policies could be made by companies to improve their effeciency and
productivity level. The justification for selection of current research topic comprises of the fact
that it lead to better understanding about the factors that motivates employees for achieving
desired set of goals. Beside this, a better implication about the influence of motivation on the
employees performance and efficiency level is also evaluated by current study. Further, the

selected topic is also justifiable and rationale from perspective of an organisation as it lead to
evaluation of strategies and approach that could be adopted by a company to ensure more

topic is also rationale from personal aim of researcher as would meet academic purpose of
investigator and also lead to better work experience and managerial skills.

of employee motivation and performance on success and betterment of an organisation.”A

Research Objective
To review the concept of employee’s motivation along with its importance in success and
betterment of organisation.
To evaluate about the impact of motivation on overall employees’ job performance.
To determine the various strategies that could be adopted by Superdry plc to ensure more
effective motivation for its employees to lead better performance.

The main research questions that are to be answered and evaluated through with current
investigation on Superdry Plc are listed below:
What is meant by motivation of employees along with determining its importance in
success and betterment of organisation?
What impact is created by motivation on overall performance of employees?
What are the possible strategies that could be adopted by Superdry plc to have effective
motivation for its employees for improving their overall performance?
