RESEARCH TITLE: To investigate the role of leadership in motivating employees within
retail sectors of United Kingdom.
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Leadership is an art of motivating individuals to perform particular task or guiding,
supporting and directing person regarding the way activity can be completed and end goals can
be achieved. It plays crucial role in motivating employees to give their best so that company can
retained its market positioning and meet requirements of several customers. This research
proposal is related to role of leadership in influencing employees to enhance their performance
for benefits of organisation (Xie and et.al., 2018). It has covered information pertaining to the
way company will make use of leadership style to motivate individual in order to enhance its
market share and profit margin.
1.1.1 Research rationale and justification
The research on role of leadership is important to complete as it will help in
understanding the way it influence individuals to give their best so that company can grow and
expand its operation. Furthermore, in recent scenario, there are many organisations in retail
sector of United Kingdom that are facing challenges related to retention of employees in the
firm. That has lead barrier in providing better services to customers in limited time frame or best
possible manner (Inceoglu and et.al., 2018). So the study will helps in gathering information
related to the way leader can retain and make employees happy and satisfied for effective
customer services. This study will be useful for organisation, management, senior executive and
leaders that are working in enterprise operating in retail sector of United Kingdom.
1.2 PROJECT AIM AND OBJECTIVE
AIM
To analysis role of leadership in motivating employees for growth and development of company
in the retail sector of United Kingdom. A case study of Morrison.
OBJECTIVE
Specific: To understand the role of leadership in motivating employees of the company.
Measurable: To investigate method those are used by leader to motivate individuals for benefits
of organisation in limited time frame.
Achievable: To evaluate whether study will helps in accumulating detailed related to benefits of
leadership for Morrison.
