HRM is the strategic approach of people in a company andorganization that will help the business to gain high competitive advantage (Armstrong and Taylor, 2020). Thatis why, it is designed in order to maximize the employees performance in service of an employer’s strategic objectives. In the same way, current study will also help to determine the importance of having effective HRM which cause positive impact upon employees as well as business performance. The study will also highlight the importance of HRM and determine some challenges that also cause negative impact upon business performance. Also, current study, shows how an effective HRM leads a business towards success level. So, current study show the importance of having HRM in every business and assist too sustain the brand image of the firm as well. Background of Research Organization The chosen firm for this report is Tesco which is a top retail firm in UK. The company is known as third largest retailer in the world as per the gross revenue and currently it is dealing at different countries and having thousands of employees who assist to make the business at further level of success. Further, Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen and originally it is deal with groceries, clothes, furniture, beauty products, kind wear etc. Also, the company have operate its unit at 11 countries and also as year passes it isalso looking forward to expand its business in more countries (Bratton and Gold, 2017). Thus, having a brand image shows that company have effective HRM system because they plays a crucial role in the success of a business and also support the employees who support Tesco to meet the define aim and objectives. In recent years, Tesco also open lots ofstore name as Tesco value, Tesco Extra, Tesco Superstores in order to provide better facility to their customers without any interruption. That is why, it is ranked in three position because of providing best and effective services to their customers at low rates.
Research Rationale TherationalebehindchoosingthisspecifictopicissuchthatHumanResource management is the vast topic and that is why, conducting study on the particular topic will help to meet the define aim and objectives. Through the current study, researcher will easily improve own knowledge related to models, HRM and how it affect the overall business and its success. Also, another rationale behind choosing the study is such that may be University provide the specific topic or researcher have their own interest to conduct the research so that it will help to raise the current level of the knowledge, which assist in future as well (Chelladurai and Kerwin, 2018). Research methodology There are two types of research methodology such that qualitative and quantitative. Under qualitative research methodology, which gather- non- numerical data and its focus upon the meaning making (Ryder and et.al., 2020). Further, it is also designed in such a manner that helps to reveal the behavior as well as perceptionofthe target audience with regards to a particulartopic. Whilequantitative research methodology, which emphasizethe objective measurement and the statistical as well as numerical analysis of all the gather data using questionnaire, surveys. So, among all, researcher will chooses qualitative research method whichhelps to determine the overall point of view of the selected random methods. Moreover, the researcher chooses this method will help to analyze the impact of having effective HRM and its impact upon the Tesco performance and employees performance as well. Research Tool In order to conduct the research in better manner, researcher will uses questionnaire in which questions are asked to all the selected samples so that it will help toexamine the impact of HRM upon employee performance. Also, the questionnaire is selected and mail through official id of all the selected sample and also researcher take consent from the researcher and this will assist to answer the researcher questions as well. Further, questionnaire contain 10 questions which include 9 question at open ended and 1 question at close ended. Sampling: Sampling isall about to select sample from the population or else, it is a statistical analysis in which a pre- determine number of observation taken from larger population (Kumar, 2019). There are two types of sampling method such that probability and non- probability sampling method. So,amongall,researcherchoosessimplerandomsamplingmethodinwhich20 employees are selected under probability sampling method. These sample size are selected randomly in order to examine the views of all the samples with regards to analyze the impact of HRM upon the business and its employee performance. Through, this sample size, researcher
will easily get the answer of all the questions and it also meet the define aim and objectives as well.
