Introduction
Culture diversity is termed as existence of various forms of ethics and cultural groups. Cultural groups can effectively share wide
range of characteristics such as disability, class, age, language, nationality and more. Cultural diversity allows an organisation to
respect employees of different background and provide them a positive environment to work. This is one of the most important
practices that allows an organisation to ensure long term sustainable growth as well as development.
Topic: Equality and Diversity in the workplace
Aims “To identify the importance of managing Cultural Diversity in the workplace”. A case study on TESCO.

Research Objectives:
To determine the concept of Culture diversity.
To identify the importance of managing culture diversity in the workplace. To determine the challenges that can be faced by organisation to manage culture diversity. To evaluate the strategies for managing culture diversity in company.

This research is being chosen as it is based on most important topic for each and every organisation. Cultural
diversity allows an organisation to provide discrimination free environment to their employees through
which overall productivity of both employees and company can be enhanced.

Concept of Culture diversity
As per the view point of Roupakias and Dimou, 2020 culture diversity is defined as a practice in which an
organisation ensure that there is no discrimination based on race, sex, inability, religion or conviction, sexual
direction and age. It energizes a climate that permits individuals from various foundations to arrive at their
maximum capacity. It has been evaluated that cultural diversity plays an essential role that allows an
employees to enhance their overall workplace productivity in a well define and effective manner.
Furthermore, it has been evaluated that cultural diversity is inclusive of positive practices that allows an
organisation to have positive growth as well as development.
Importance of managing culture diversity in the workplace
As per the view point of Sadr, 2020 cultural diversity defined as a manner in which organisation provide a
workplace environment in which there is no discrimination based on race, sex, ethnic gatherings, age,
religion, sexual direction, citizenship status and more. Culture diversity plays most important role through
which company can provide a positive workplace environment to employees. This is one of the most
essential practices that will lead an organisation to assure long term sustainability as well as growth.
Challenges that can be faced by organisation to manage culture diversity
According to the view point of Gou, Cui and Han, 2020 culture is viewed as the fundamental qualities that
immediate the manner in which individuals within company gets treated. Organisation with the help of
providing a working environment is inclusive of practices, qualities, conventions, or convictions of
representatives dependent on race, age, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation can ensure more growth.
However, it has been evaluated that there are number of challenges that can be faced by organisation in order
to manage cultural diversity. These challenges can be in terms of negative cultural stereotypes and more.
Strategies for managing culture diversity in company
As per the view point of Brottman and et. al., 2020 there are number of strategies through which cultural
diversity in workplace can be managed in a well define and effective manner. In this it is essential for
company to create arrangements that work as one with the morals and estimations of the organization as
characterized in the statement of purpose. Furthermore, organisation is also required to implement effective
cultural diversity practices as well as policies in an organisational workplace structure as to ensure more
growth and development opportunities.
