Background
 The research conducts a comparative analysis of Procurement Challenges in
emerging markets of Nigeria and China
 The research study highlights the various procurement challenges that are
faced in China and Nigeria based on the size and nature of industry along
with the operations in each countries
 The procurement strategies and approaches are implemented for ensuring
reduction of costs associated with the production of products along with
management of timely delivery of goods and services
 The background of research also highlights the importance of balancing the
demands and supply in the emerging markets, furthermore play a major role
in the global economy too

Problem of research
 The research rationale demonstrates the problem of research, i.e., the
various procurement problems faced within the emerging markets
 There also can be issues and challenges associated with the management of
supply chains for sustenance of economic and social value in Nigeria
 At China, the major procurement challenges include non-wage labour costs,
market saturation and even rise in prices of products
 Considering the problem of research, the volatile and disruptive business
landscape have also resulted in the need for a flexible and agile supply chain
network design, which can be a major challenge too
 The uncertainty of supply chain lines often require larger inventories, which
also increases costs and reduces the return rate.

Research objectives
